No it was painted black to match the original paint, but I recently had it wrapped in matte black vinyl .

I too love the sinister hood ^^ this one.

I think it's the best looking hood out there, hands down.

plus 1 , wish i could see if there different and fit and finish on the car...does anyone know how there different..?? they are both ram air hoods??? ok , i,m back, did some research and seems that both hoods are very comparable and both have happy customers...seems to me the only real diff is the ram air, the sinister is straight across from side to side and the mpd1 is shaped like the mailslot...this seems to work better for the cars that have the mailslot form pics i have seen...it appears to be more conformiong as a match between the mailslot and ram air slot...instead of 2 different shapes ...imo, i think both are equally nice and can,t go wrong with either..

I would say the height at the back of the hood is very close. The sinister is more wedge shaped in its side profile where as the MPD1 "Z Force" carries the height forward about 3/4 of the way forward before sloping down to the leading edge of the hood.

They are both functional in the same way, ram-air and heat extracters in the back. The "Z Force" is built to be a truly dedicated ram air designed in conjunction with CAI inc for a truly sealed off from the eng. heat type of system.
The "Z Force" also has the intake area leading to the intake opening recessed down so there is not "scoop on top of a scoop" look.
And yes Mike, good observation on the opening being vee'd to match the front of the car. It just looks right
