Ok, I'm not the brightest light in the bunch, because I've driven mine up to 126 MPH ONE time. (when I first got it)

Personlly I'm glad he did not kill himself, but know he's got a car he is going to have to fix himself.
Warrenty should not cover stupid.
Now that would have been funny.....

He removed the limiter and intentionally put himself in danger he would have deserved whatever were to happen, but I also believe in cleansing the gene pool so maybe my opinion is a little harsh...

Stock driveshafts can fail on any car. I guess since everyone here hates Mustang's, that's why it's funny.

The driver of the video is a moron, and should have backed it down.

LOL @ a Stock V6 camaro hitting 155. That made me LOL.

The V6 driveshaft has always been a weakness, and can't handle high speeds like that.

The camaro V6 doing 155 is nothing to laugh at. Many V6 owners, including myself, have hit well into the 130s and 140s. It can handle it. Im not saying its the safest thing to do but my limiter wouldnt be set the 155 if it couldnt handle it. The stang obviosly cant.

Pushing a car to max anything is dangerous and REALLY not that bright. Just because it says max 155/118 or whatever that is done in a controlled environment. Not taking into accout wear and tear and daily usage will get you in trouble FAST.

It's most likely a matter of time before anything has happened.

I've heard of V6 Camaro's having issues exceeding past the limit GM put out on it in stock form.

Even SS's, GT's, etc. have had issues with very high speeds like that.

140 and 155 are completely different speeds. The amount of force against the car and load on the drivetrain is increase tremendously between those speeds. Last I checked, the V6 Camaro could not go past 120 without a retune/reflash to remove the factory limiter.

Wrong. With the RS package the V6 is limited at 155. Non-RS 118

But I do agree with drivetrain stress

Seriously and be hoenst now - where can you drive 150 mph and be safe (outside of a track) quick math tells me that is more than 200 feet per second. It takes you about three seconds to respond the seeing something so that's 600 feet or so. You won't be able to stop in 600 feet so you got about 3 seconds of life flashing vision before the end.

Sorry, I'm no expert on the Camaro packages.

Thanks for clarifying.

On a side note, good luck trying to get a V6 Camaro to 155. It will take quite a long time. 300 HP will only go so far.

For a 300HP car, not many places.

I've been able to get to 135 in my 05 GT (slightly restricted due to gearing and not going into 5th gear) in less than 20 seconds. My old Cobra was able to hit 145+ in barely 20-25 seconds. I haven't confirmed how long, but, 500+ HP and gaering goes a long way, but stops quickly at higher speeds due to lack of gearing, haha.

Obviously something like that can be acheived (not recommended of course) in late hours when there is little to no traffic, especially on wide open back roads, etc. Not condoning testing it or doing this, just mentioning it.

It's not the traffic, not just the traffic, thats an issue. I once hit a ground hog at 102, it was at a track just after the traps. I gotta tell ya I had time to do nothing. Good thing too, if you try to streer around at that speed your toast.

And just a guess here.. But 20seconds driving like that is gonna put you at more than mile of ground covered.
