Zero,
No more communications with that dealer.
When your car comes in, just take it.
And THEN you will tell the general manager that you will never do business with them again and that you will make sure to tell everybody you know how rotten their business practices are.

He thinks YOUR e-mail was out of line?!?!? His was WAYYY more out of line!!!!! Since when can a business treat a customer like that?!?!? That guy should be fired!!!!
I worked in customer service for years and I would have NEVER (nor could I have ever) said anything like that.

But like I said; bide your time and bite your tounge. Take delivery of the car and after you get it home, maybe inform the OWNER of the dealership about the unprofessional treatment you received at his/her dealership.

Lesson here is don't count your chickens before they hatch..... In other words, don't count on it being here by a specific date, only believe when you can touch, smell, see it with your own eyes.

Yes, I am a dealer so I am a little biased but we hear this all the time. Was the dealer wrong in telling you that? Yes. Are you upset because you told your friends about your new car and now you look silly? I think your friends really don't care when you get your car. They'll be happy for you and drool all over it and you'll forget about all of this.

Bottom line is the dealer isn't at fault for something they can't control. But you really should suck it up before they give you your money back and they sell it to someone else.
I disagree with you. The OP was justified.
The dealer told him that the car would be here in a certain window of time. Now they're telling him, they don't know, or MUCH later.
It's obvious to me that they didn't know the first time around. They should have told him one of two things: "let us see what we can find out about your delivery date" or "we don't know".
You don't give out false dates. THAT'S BS!!!! Plain & simple.

The person that wrote him back was the one that's out of line. Since when can a representative of a business treat a customer like that?
I hope the OP bad mouths that dealership to everyone he knows after he takes delivery of the car.

Yep like the others have said just sit tight SHE WILL COME The problem is now the dealership is pissed and IMHO they can care less about your order I am sure they wish the car would arrive so you will stop calling. As others have said they have you by the Balls so it's either put up with it and wait or get your deposit back.

I recall when I ordered my 06 Silverado I let my salesperson and new car manager know that I would be calling weekly about updates so don't get pissed at me if I am calling. They were ok with it I am sure after I called the 1st 20 times they were over it but that was my 40k I was giving them.

So in the end just hang tight she will arrive trust me I would be upset watching others taking delivery and you have not..

HuJass - Thank you. I will do exactly as said as it seems thats the best way to deal with this as of now.

RPO - Really? biased? how about 110%. He was wrong, all the way. 2 times I stated it wasn't his fault about the delivery. What is it with dealers and my emails, its clearly stated why i'm upset. And NO i don't care about my friends and my car. I care that i am scheduled to be at a car show, which looks unlikely at this point.

I agree compltly he has me by the balls. But that is EXACTLY why America is in the crap its in now. We the customer have no say against the big companies (in this case the dealer.)

Thanks for the responses.

I would look around and see if you could find one like yours and was canceled. then go get your deposit and tell them to f--k off. or when you get your servey fill it out how you feel GM takes them serious watch how they almost beg you to give them all excellent scores, if they get one bad mark on there they dont get a bonus or something. maybe tell him / her you cant wait to get your servey see if there tune changes.

R6P folks have waited for long enough GM!!! Build early orders before any new dealer orders regardless of allocation. Stop treating your most loyal customers so unfairly

I think you're right to be angry but maybe a little over the top. As I posted before, I'm in a somewhat similar situation (worse really since mine hasn't even been submitted to GM yet). So I know where you're coming from.

I'm pretty sure that the system doesn't say "quality hold". All they get is the status code. Yours was probably 4000 or 4B00 so he jumped to the conclusion that it was about to be shipped. And like you said, they don't get the same level of info that we do (although they could read this forum just like anyone else). He probably had no clue that there was any sort of window issue or quality hold. I would cut him a little slack. He's just an idiot and jumped to a conclusion that he shouldn't have. I don't think there was any malicious intent in misleading you.

And what's with dealers not knowing how to write? That in itself is extremely unprofessional. Is he really to busy to press the shift key? (I guess that goes back to my previous idiot comment).

Honestly guys the boss who I cc'ed in the email must have said something. When i get home i'll post the emails sent after what i've posted so far. Funny how hes just reconfirms over and over that they haven't actually delivered ANY camaros to customers and that none are within 600 miles of here.

Its really a joke of how things are happening but at least RIGHT now we are at a good point communication wise so i'll leave it at that. Lets just hope they give me the survey to fill out LOL.

Btw still waiting on a non existent welcome package but I already let that fight go awhile ago, hah.

woot,
even if the computer doesn't say "quality hold", why can't the salesman take 5-10 minutes and call the DBC for the latest & greatest info?
The DBC is a tool for the dealer. They need to utilize all their tools.
In this case, not only did they not do that, they made up a story, AND they were disrespectful to a customer.
Three wrongs! They don't deserve ANY slack.

The OP has a right to be mad. That dealer should be falling all over themselves to satisfy this customer. That's their job.

I agree with this post and I am not a dealer. Its not the dealers fault that iit hasnt shipped or is in transit. their mistakewas telling you a arrival date. There honestly is no way to tell when they come in. Ive ordered vehicles before and its not fun waiting but it will be there. All this brew haha over ordering and being charged msrp or over is the reason why I am waiting untl the end of 2010 before getting mine.
