H.O.D. Headlights BLEW!!

http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...n-lights-1.htm

Alright I purchased these H.O.D. Headlights the week of black friday. I installed them correctly at an auto parts store. Well tonight on my way home one of them blew up. It didn't just go out, i opened the headlight housing and pieces of glass almost cut me when i untwisted the little lock mechanism.

Anyways, i was wondering if this is normal, if i can get a replacement for free, or what my next step needs to be honestly?

Help me please!

if you touched the glass on the bulb itself this will happen.

I went through several sets of Putco's before giving up and going back to stock.

I hadn't touched the glass at all. On my way home i noticed when i pulled into my drive-way that the lights seemed dimmer than usual. When i saw my car's reflection in the window of our house i then saw the front right light was out. After popping the hood i went to see if it was just loose or something. Then i saw some steam/smoke and opened it up to find it shattered inside :S

That sucks! I have the Oracle HOD bulbs, I'm guessing the same type as yours for when I had my non-RS lights. I had them for a few months and they worked fine. Its nice that they have a whiter tint to them, but they are really not that bright...

I agree, i actually felt like i lost some light using them. I have no problem with the stock ones. I guess i just was so eager to get the HID lights i couldn't wait to get the nice white tint.

Does anyone have some recommendations for a cheap HID kit or lights for a 2011 1 LT camaro?

You can find cheap all over the net. Problem is most are cheap because they are made so......

When you drive down the road and are blinded by a car or truck with HIDs it is usually the cheap sets. They can be poorly aligned in the reflector.

If even a small amount of contamination got on the bulb, this was inevitable.
