Again, heartfelt. This Camaro team was driven by "heart" to make this happen.

Really? Nah....

Captured with the Rapture! Ditto. Worth the wait. And, I've waited 45 years for a car that could do what the ZL1 is going to do. This IS a car that gift wraps heritage, history, innovation, and spirit into a truly "once in a lifetime" opportunity. Sure it may go a few years... but like all good things.... you know the story. This car is one of the special ones most will reminisce about.
Htron, you've got vision like that of Diomedes,

My honorable friend! Such a comment coming from EL Capitan himself is RAD!

You know good things don't last long! The 68,69,70 Z28's were the reknowned ones. As far as ZL1's go, if they go for 3 - 5 years we'll be lucky. It may be the Z28 simply replaces it, and it goes down as a 4 year availability. Thus making Z28 King of the whole damn hill starting in 2015! One thing for sure, our 2012 ZL1's will be iconic.

If nothing else is more impressive than the ZL1 and the 2013 GT500 in two years time, I will certainly consider one of the two cars. Time will tell which one.

I am also wondering where the next generation of the Mustangs and Camaro's will put the cars both look and performance wise. Erik

It wouldn't be worth the effort if I was just buying it because its a "new thing."

When I eventually take the plunge for the zl1 it will be here to stay.

I'm so different from you guys it ain't funny. I'm not one for getting all sappy over this thing. I'm not one for doing all this research and making sure everything is just so. For me I see something I like, I read the information that is available at the time and I then make a decision. I hate shopping and looking and comparing and so forth. I decide what I want, I go in and get it and get out ... Done !!!

Not a day goes by when I don't travel backward through my past when a certain song comes on the radio. Satellite radio....awesome technology. such a powerful medium. I relieve the past... "in the days of my youth" < Good times bad times; Led Zeppelin>...I flashback to those memorable experiences I had with my Camaro(s)...those crazy, heady days....a passage back through time and space. Quantium physics suggest one can travel forward in time, not backwards. If you owned a Camaro from way back in the day, you can concievably travel time in either direction. It's a contradiction to the principals of physics, but the Chevy Camaro Z-28 can transcend that kind of thing....

And I would say as a whole we are fine with that. Differences of personal preferences and opinion are what makes the world go 'round!.

I watched Chevy 100 on Velocity HD. A piece on the presentation came up with period footage and first person commentary as I recall. The background music was "Majic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf. That was an out of body experience for me personally. Whoever involved with the making of the video that made the decision to place that song in there get's kudo's and my upmost appreciation for that. You're one of my kind.

Not a hype buyer here. I ordered my 2010 IOM 2SS/RS after driving a 4500 mile used one on the dealers lot. It is a great car! But once the break-in miles were on it and I could stand on it, I knew why people were modding their cars. It is fast. But when my friends asked what I thought about the car, I stated "It is a great car, but it needs about another 150 Hp to be a real machine. IMO" Thus the personalized plate STL2SLO. So I waited and watched..Once the ZL1 was announced, and the HP numbers were released, It was a matter of pricing..If it was much higher, then I would have popped for a new vette.
Then I must admit that I also have an ulterior motive for this purchase. I my father who gave me the car bug bought a blue 1969 Z/28 new. I remember that car as I toddler. He is retiring in July, one thing on his bucket list, to drive the sections of Route 66 that are still open.
When the opportunity to get the only allocation that my dealer is getting presented itself, I jumped on it. My order was for IBM....(Don't get me started.) I wanted to pull into my dad's retirement party and hand him the keys to tell him it was time to check off one thing on his bucket list in a another blue Camaro.
I still will pull into his retirement party and tell him it's time to check off route 66. The car will be black, but I'm sure the smiles per mile will be just as good.
As far as selling/keeping it..I'm one of GM's better customers, for both classic and present products. So we'll see..I still have a tiny scar from the "bait and switch" cut I received from the IBM "thing". But not to worry, I have a 1926-27 Ford Model T that will bear the brunt of my angst as I lower it's lid by 7-9 inches. Time to get to the garage for some therapy!

LOL, caddy but worth replying to...being an older person with a lifetime of memories, experiences and then some affords me the ability to do such. No, I didn't go to Woodstock, but I vivdly remember that summer. I remember Ray, an older brother of my one of my best friend's leaving for the concert. Sadly he died there. I miss, and fondly recall certain periods of the past. Flashbacks are memories, triggered by stimuli of some kind. Music and it's lyrics were a major influence in my life, along with the Camaro Z-28. A good part of my inner self is derived from my bond with both. Rock on....
