Read the ad closely. The VIN is bogus. He plainly states that the VIN is "one of the first 3000". This listing has been addressed here before.

For a car that is 1 of the first 3000 yet the VIN# is in the 7000's?

I got a bit of a rant.

My dealer called me yesterday on the way to Scotts. (first time he ever called me) and asked if I could do them a favor and bring my Camaro back for the big Camaro unveiling day at the dealership. He said Channel 10 was going to be there and they wanted mine, theirs and the other one ordered to all be there. I asked him if he DID reallize that I DON'T HAVE IT YET.

He said "You will by May 5th (the unveiling day) I told him my car isn't even built yet. He said yes it is and I'll have it by then.

Now I know it hasn't been built because it is nowwhere in the system but he just argued with me and said yes it is. Then he asks me who would know better, me or him? Huh?

So he says "Ok, just for arguement sake let's pretend you don't have it by then, could you come down to the lot to answer questions and stuff? We need someone who knows all about this car".

WTF? Is he just trying to get me down there to do his job? Why the hell? Do they know nothing about this freaking car? This was the weirdest phone call I have gotten in a long time.

I tell you one thing. This whole thing has given me some insight to a lot of car dealer business. Why would he call me and tell me this? How unorganized can people be? This is so freakin weird it's not even funny. it's almost like a joke.

What rant?

I figure for $100 an hour, I'll sit anywhere and explain anything to anybody. Tell him gas/grass/or ass; nobody rides for free...

Exactly! I asked him to check the status and of course never heard back from him. I know it's not built. It was at 3000 last I knew about 2 weeks ago so he's on crack or something but why the hell would he call like that? I just think it's amazing how they do stuff.

I don't want to piss them off. My 1000.00 deposit is non-refundable.

I know, I know I could have done better but to order in Feb. and be #2 was too hard to pass up.

That is kind of an odd request. However, it seems like alot of people's status codes are not moving. Unless the DBC gave him some different info? But he still should know your vin #.

With everone talking of the event codes and where they are at. Please just answer this. Are you all calling the dealer or the 1-800# or what. Everone seems to have a different event # each day. Is their something out there that is a data base for someone to check on daily. I have two early pkgs but havent been told of any event code yet both have order #'s. Can someone tell me this"?

That's what makes it so weird. There IS no vin#, I'm only at 3000 last I knew. Beleive me, I got exited when he called and asked if I would bring my car because I thought he would lead into my car was there. But then when I thought about it I knew it couldn't be. you don't go from 3000 to your car being delivered in 3 weeks.
