Using my $1,500 private offer I can get the auto 45th Anniversary Edition 2SS w/sunroof for $35,680 (USAA pricing).

This seems like a pretty good offer, but now I have to wait to get back in town to take advantage of it.... and I have to hope one of the dealerships actually has it in stock. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I got an email one day from GM with the private offer details. I'm not sure how I got the offer, though.

I know I had been on their website along with their military discount website. It may have just been an auto-generated deal, but I'm going to use it if given the opportunity.

There is one at Wetzel in Richmond, About 30 miles from you 765-966-0505.

The general sales manager informed me that I could not combine the GM Private Offer with the USAA discount/car buying service. I'm a little disappointed, but my time will come.

All in all, it would have been a decent price, but I got fed up with having to haggle with the dealersphip to even honor just the USAA pricing. They were arguing with me that my pricing certificate was for a 2011, even though it clearly showed it was for a 2012 45th AE SS. The exact words were, "That's a special edition car, and it wouldn't be available to buy for that price." I offered to pull it up for them on their own computer, but they just wouldn't (or didnt' want to) believe it.

I've bought my last 3 cars using the USAA car buying service and never had a problem until now. It was the most frustrating car dealership experience I've had in a long time. I'll admit that once the general sales manager got involved, he knew the offer was legit and would have honored it. This was after he tried to show me why it wasn't right by looking at his ZAG (sp?) pricing. That's when he realized it was correct.

Back to the drawing board, and I'm looking forward to seeing what the crystal red tintcoat looks like on a camaro in person.

I am so sorry the dealership was so horrible. I had kind of the same experience. When I got my 2012 transformer edition I was told the same run around about "special editions". Run from that dealer! Someone will be willing to work with you. Good luck.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm now the proud owner of a 45th AE 2SS! What a difference in dealerships. I'm glad I'm stubborn or I might have gotten railroaded at the other dealership. But now I'm all smiles.
