See, now that is what you guys get for buying those expensive Camaros. If you had gotten an LS, life would be simple!

How long can it possibly take for them to figure out how to rotate the tires back to the way they are supposed to be???? Why does it need to be more difficult then that?

Yup, so you had a little wider tire on the front and a little narrower tire on the back since new....no big deal.
The tires wouldn't wear any differently, and there would be no damage to the wheels or tires. Swap them back the way they should have been and there's your tire rotation.
No harm, no foul, no damage, no need for new tires.
Why would you think the tires need replacing?

My 1LT R/S has 20x9" wide in the front and 20x10" in the back, but they upgraded it to the SS wheels from the factory so I assume that's why.

My money is on the dealer doing it at some point if they were the ones doing the maintenance. I would trust the plant's error proofing and parts sequencing processes way before the dealers.

I agree....they probably did an oil change and they thought they were doing the OP a favor by rotating the tires.

And yes everyone...no matter if it's a 6 or an 8...the RS comes with smaller wheels on the FRONT.

So are the bigger tires on the small wheels, and small tires on big wheels or does it just have the wheel and tire on wrong end? If it has bigger tires and wheels on front, that should be pretty obvious.

ma24boys72, would you be able to tell me the tire size on the front and back of the vehicle? With the RS package you should have P245/45R20 in the front and P275/45R20 in the back. I hope to hear back from you soon.

I'm assuming you mean 20x8 and 20x9 as they are the RS rims. As far as I know the RS rims do not come in 20x10's (LT or SS), they are the same RS rims on the LT and the SS.

My SS/RS came with 245/45 ZR20 on front and 275/40 ZR20 on the rear. Does the SS have a slightly lower profile rear than the 6 cylinder RS?

This is correct size for RS rims (mine are the same size). It's the same for both the V6 (LT) and the V8(SS) when you have the RS package.

Back to the OP, my guess is during one of your oil changes your tires were rotated.

Bought a new loaded camaro in 1988. Three days later while washing it I discovered that the door skin had been replaced. Went back to Charlie Pike Chevrolet where I bought the car, and they asked me to sign a disclosure statement saying I knew of the damage, and also asked for more money down! Left there in my 87 tahoe went to hambys and bought new red 88 Camaro, drove it for a couple of weeks before wife and I noticed that the passenger door handle and drivers door handle were completly different colors! One black, the other gray, and we watched them take the plastic off the car at the dealer. Must have been a Monday car....or Friday!
