So does every one have full control of the tcm now? I know they were having issues with commanded line pressure (max 199psi) and pre apply pressure.

What mph do most people have the converters set to lock? Mine is set at 50, and at 55-65 mph my rpm will bounce 150-200. It feels like the converter is locking and unlocking constantly. Any ideas how to fix, or is it normal. If I put it in manual mode it stays steady.

The bouncing is normal with aftermarket converters that aren't designed to have their clutch pulsed/slipped. There's a way to get rid of that.

Its a precision industries converter. I called them and was told it should stay locked, does it make sense that stays locked in manual mode but not in drive? Is the fix a secret

Pulse width modulation should be tuned on an aftermarket converter to disable any partial lockup. It should either be locked or unlocked. Engine misfire tables in the tune should also be desensatized because of the reduced rotating weight. Smaller converters and even underdrive pulleys can cause the ecm to think its misfiring which will unlock the converter. However if that was the case you should be seeing a p0300 or a mil light on unless the p0300 code was disable as far as setting a mil.

It's no secret. The TCM allows a certain amount of slip in the factory converter clutch based on a few things. In TUTD it just stops trying to slip. While engaged, it will vary pressure on the TCC to try and use the least pressure possible to hold the desired slip. Eliminating the pulsing involves setting desired slip to zero at all points and disabling the adaptive TCC pressure.

The TCC desired slip tables still think your AFM is active with a stock stall and needs to be zero'd out because it sends a pulse to the TCC, Disable your DoD slip in the transmission settings, and pressure needs to be added to the Apply ramp TCC settings.

you can also add a couple MPH to your apply and release table. That will effect your MPG, but hold the stall longer.

You'll be good to go.
Phil

Steck is right, no secret. It's been done to my car. Courtesy of Steck.

Tuners...oh tuners..where are you?don't be affraid to chime in it's not burnt yet,it's a new tranny and converter, keep resetting shift adapts and it's fine for awhile then it goes back to acting stupid, guess it's probably that 688 lb-ft @3800rpm that causing it I do remember one of you tuners said you could make it "SNAP" into every gear...where oh where are you?

Log your Shift adapts and adjust as necessary just like Fuel Trims.

Had that same problem. Dsteck had made some changes, but I can't remember what. Haven't seen him on the board lately, but search for him and send him a PM.

I'm looking into PATC right now. They just came up with some new engineering for the 6L. I'll let you know whats up...
