nooo bro dun worry nothing wrong just they found that there was excessive noise and the weights eliminate it

Odd, the problem must have been pretty noticeable for them to go to the trouble of adding the weights like that. All in all it is good attention to detail on the part of the engineers, but it is a shame to ugly up those nice looking calipers to help prevent what I am guessing is minor squealing. If this represents the type of minor issues we can expect with the production car then I think they have done a pretty good job, especially considering they are already solving the problem by the time the first customer received their car.

so the later builds won't have the extra weights... might be good for an extra .1 sec!!

These weights will only be added to early builds of the Camaro SS.

How about doing a recall on the early "builds" and making them complete like the later ones will be. Looks like shit.

I also think that its great that they noticed this and tried to come up with a solution before early cars went out for delivery. Having said that, I think if I had one of these early cars I would start complaining about break noise pretty quick. Those weights are not gonna stay and then what? You apparently will have some noisy brembo's. I mean hey you just spent $30,000+!

In all honesty this should be a recall for all early production cars.

What he said!!

Hope mine doesn't have a big pile of weights on those purty looking calipers.

Yeah that answer from GM sucks. I hope mine does not have them either. My main concern is how long will they stay on? How long will it be before you're driving down the road and they come off and then who knows what kind of damage they might do to your car or some elses on the road. Maybe that's a little paranoid, but I just don't like it. This definitely needs to be a recall. It's a band aid so they could get the cars out there. I'm mean I'm glad that I might be getting my car soon, but I could have waited a few additonal weeks for a better, proper fix.

Well if the weights somehow "happen" to fall off, and you go in complaining of squealing breaks, I would assume they would have to fix them under warranty, correct? Does that mean the newer brembos without weights, or will they just glue some more weights back on?

So will the later cars with the proper calipers still have the "Brembo" and "Chevrolet" embossed on them......I have a feeling they will not.
