Funny, I put a comment about the driver dogging it to make their gains look better on Youtube and of course they deleted it. LOL

Dude. Everyone does it. From politics to news to sports. No big deal. And put the Stang back in your sig.

As far as the run goes. My wifes IS350 will just about do those numbers.

I think maybe they wanted a standard shift of 6000 to work with a consistant run as they develope mods. It will do better numbers and they are probably aware of this but want to just keep it constant. Nothing to worry about.

Well too start out he came out of the hole pretty slow, seemed like a good shift to second then definitely shifted to early to third. My 2002 camaro ran 13.6 very first time I ran it bone stock!

You CAN NOT run a good time with a 2.3 sec 60'.

It just shows he lacks seat time and track experience in the car. My guess is he would have run much faster with the A6 automatic (less skill needed to launch).

At least he didn't run in the 14s (which could easily happen with a 2.3 - 2.4 sec 60' time).

maybe he just shifted based on feel, which is not always the best way to figure out shiftpoints.

Oh god......who gives a hell. We know what the Camaro is capable of. The time that matters is what time you get. Not what someone else driving gets, not what a magazine or whoever gets. Leave the brochure racing to the ricers.

What is interesting is that in another video on streetfire, where the SS faces a Challenger (with an equally horrible driver as this one) it, too, trapped about 108mph.

I called them and they said that there was a strong head wind which would account for the slightly slower head wind. They only made 3 runs as the scoreboard at the track was not working. So they didnt want to beat on the car too much. They said that the first 2 runs were bog and go and the 3rd run he tried to leave at 3500 and it spun real bad. They said they were going to try to run it again.

The magazine times are usually under perfect conditions and after many tries at finding the right launch. It's a low 13 / hi 12 sec. car at 110-112 on a cool day, good driver and good track.

Needs a driver mod.....

That was the sh****st driving I've seen.......please......

You know....

I'm agree 100% that they drive it like that on purpose only to mod it and put up a different video later on. I mean....EVERYONE saw the other car mags get MUCH better times than this! This is EXTREMELY poor advertising and IMO, is ridiculous.

I think you'd have to be a real genius to post up something like this and be proud of it when it's obvious its a REALLY bad time for a car that can do SO much more.

(I ran a 12.74 in my 02 Z28 with only a CAI, lid, KN, and loudmouth exhaust....mags, if I remember correctly, had it at 12.9 BEST TIME stock.)

Clearly in the video he said he will short shift the Camaro at 6000 Rpm (vs 6600rpm redline) , coupled with bogging the car off the line (2.3 sec 60ft!!!!) and coupled again with the car being brand spanking new, nowhere near being broken in and 13.6 at 108 make sense. Though they did it on purpose to make their mods look even better.

I would have to agree with several of the guys mentioning the MPH...yeah, the 60' matters big time for ET, but not really for MPH...The Supra's were notorious for running like 12.8 @ 126 with a 2.5 60' lol or something like that, it was like a joke for the f-body guys. The 108mph is suggesting that the power may not be there like we had hoped...this could be due to not being broken in as much as the magazine cars, a SIGNIFICANT headwind, AND the dude shortshifting and not utilizing the full powerband of the motor. We will only know the truth when some of our members get their cars out there and start running for real (people NOT selling something).

Who's already got their car that is planning on a trip to the strip?
