2002 B4C Package RS Camaro with 81K for $6000

>Add says 81K miles, Loaded, Time to go hurry!
>Go to website says $11,690
>KBB says $11,745
>Ad says was $8,990 but new price is $6000
>Go to look at it after work tonight at 3 a.m.
>Clean interior and straight body, no dents or rust
>Fingers crossed hoping for a 6 speed
>MFW look inside only to see an automatic

First of all I'm wondering if this would be a good buy or not if its a clean car. Im going in tomorow to look it over and talk to the owner of the lot.

I'm not into autos all that much and have been driving manuals all my life. Are these cars a waste of the fun factor if I do buy an automatic?
I'm guessing doing a 6 speed swap would get pretty pricey, what kind of numbers would I be looking at?

I live in North Dakota so this would be mainly a summer car.

Just wondering what your guys thoughts and opinions are on the price and man vs auto.

Picture is of the actual car.

Sorry to say it, but you may want to check under the hood, because my money says there is a 3.8L V6 in there.

I'm not a Camaro expert, but I do recall that the SS model had a ram air hood. Every picture of a real SS I could find also had the SS emblem above the strip of molding, not below. Those also look like V6 wheels.

I can't believe anyone would let a real 2002 SS in good condition with only 81K miles go for $6K, particularly not a dealer.

SS Emblems installed in wrong location.
Wrong spoiler on the hatch
Wrong hood
Wrong wheels and tires
I smell V6 (nice engine...just not the 5.7 you are looking for)

Automatics are not bad things.

Everything he said... Here is what it would look like. I thought all the SS and Z28's had a black roof. I could be wrong though... that might be if you just had the T-tops.

The B4C would be an awesome find.

Look at the SPID sticker in the car as well as the sticker under the hood for the engine size and emissions certification showing the 5.7. Option B4C will be listed in the three letter codes.

Fourth generation B4C, It has 310 hp from the factory along with the factory modifications provided for Chevrolet's Special Service Police Package Camaro identified as a B4C. It has suspension that will out handle normal SS and Z28s with the B4C option. It is also called a special services coupe. This is the better of the 2 white police cars from Monroe, North Carolina. It has a interior markings where radios have been removed. Police lights where inside and there is one antenna mark on the hatch next to drivers rear fender. The tittle will be transferred from them to you. The car is a 35th Anniversary Special Edition and a B4C making it rather rare especially since only 500 and some 2002 Camaro's were made for service with the B4C package. It has leather inserts on the driver seat for guns with holsters. It came with A/C, PS, PB, PW, PL and is a 35th anniversary edition car. It has the Monsoon Sound System with 8 speakers and the special factory alloy wheels. New catalytic converters were put on under warranty at just under 80,000 miles. The driver seat has been replaced with original equipment. There was an accident with the car and was hit behind the right rear tire and was fixed properly in 04. I could not see any frame damage or problems from it.

I took it for a test drive, it didnt like to start in 0 degree weather. Cosmeticly it needs some TLC. Going to bring it somewhere this weekend to get it looked over and so I can go through it myself.

Too cool. Hope it checks out for you.

There is a member selling a restored 94 on the forums here if you want a "finished" car.

Toesouf94, I see youre from Cedar Rapids IA. I was just talking to a guy from your town about buying his RSX-S the other day! Im glad I came across this B4C instead, Id rather be behind the wheel of an LS1 instead of a K20 to say the least.

That would be nice to score a B4C. As for using it mainly for summer, you would be safe driving in the winter. It's really not that bad, I drive my SS through the winter, however, idk about ND but in Montana we haven't had any snow at all this year. It was 65 degrees last week.

Those z28 snowflakes make good winter wheels though! Crappy cell phone pic, but you get the idea

HUH...Im used to driving an 85' Olds Delta 88 around with bald tires in the winter. The Camaro needs new tires anyways, I should be fine in the winter then. Ya its been extremely warm out lately. We just got a dusting of snow last night. Its crazy this weather!!!
