Of course I'm serious. Just like the rust, as soon as you apply the brakes it will scrape all the excess oil off and they will work just like new. When you're done driving, give it a quick spray down and you're done!

Ok, I'm not a Pam or WD40 proponent, but the Brembos on my 350Z have never shown any signs of rust. True it's garage kept and I don't drive it in the rain, but I've never seen any rotors not rust just from moisture in the air. A garaged car that's not driven will have rusty rotors! I always thought the Brembos, although not stainless, might have some chromium in the rotors to deter the oxidation. It's possible these are just "cheaper" Brembos....the front calipers do come with wheel weights!?!

There looks to be a solution for this as one of the changes that was made on the 2009 Cadillac DTS is that "The brake rotors are made with a new process that inhibits rust".
http://cars.about.com/od/whatscoming...llac_new09.htm Scroll down the page to where the DTS is talked about... Best regardSS, Elie

Mine will not rust, I will not permit it to happen.

it is a heavier car by about 500 pounds, and it stops about 3 feet shorter in 60-0 (2008 350z 112, camaro 109) i i know its not a huge difference, but for sure not the sign the camaro has inferior brakes. the nismo Z does match the camaros 109 60-0. but, it does still weigh 500 less, and cost about 8k more. anyway, as for rust, i have drilled and sloted brakes, and they do not rust. they are Zinc coated.

Funny how Camaropete or Milk or Gator (one of those high count poster types) calls Mustangs "Rustsangs" for the same reason. Now look, the wheel is on the other hub! I'm surprised how fast the surface gathers rust.

But for most of the people on this web site this was a tease ... we are gearheads and want to know HOW they are inhibiting rust and is it something we can duplicate on our existing rotors or new replacements !! Doug |

I mean, really... are you guys just running out of things to bitch about? Or have you really never paid ANY attention to ANY other cars you've owned and noticed that it happens to EVERY brake rotor? Well, except for the CCM brakes. Ignorance. Gotta love it. |
