That is bizarre. If they want to call it enthusiasm they should think of it as what customers will lack after a broken top or two. And what buyers will lack if the problem can't be fixed. I don't even have a problem with my top (other than not putting it down much for fear of having it break), but double-speak sucks.

Right, but we are talking about The General here. Too bad Lutz isn't in charge.
They can get really bizarre, so much so that even the dealers get thrown for a loop.

Conference call with GM and dealership this Tuesday. I'm hoping it's an update on their proposed fixes for both the top and water management system and not a buy back :( I have way to much $ invested it mods !

From the email I got it seems they are waiting on parts for the fix in the bulletin. I too am going to get that call on Monday to facilitate my buy back I hope.
And Mr. Maro, this is not a new car, these problems continued and seem to have not improved with the 2012 model year. As was said here before to the coupe brethren, It's like having a rust spot on your roof that becomes a hole in a matter of weeks. Then gets repaired only to come back a few weeks later. I know you wouldn't like it and that is why us Rag Tops are getting pissed off.
I would rather drive my car than have it in the shop for the 1/3 of the time I owned it. I waited on parts for 49 days. That is not acceptable in any business. Especially if you have over 40 grand invested.

Negative ? Not a chance! I am not getting rid of this car, I drive it every chance I get. 20k as of this week and it's been a smile every mile. If it wasnt for the time in for top repair there would be 10k more smiles!
This car was designed as a vert not a coupe. The coupe came as the production evolved. I had a 2010 coupe in 09 and this was just a stop gap for me till the vert came out.
Time to go for another drive! Another smile for the miles !

Rub it in Nutt. 12 above here and I just plugged the tender back in to keep the battery fresh. Hopefully they will have a fix soon and by the time the 2013 comes out. Hope to have a Crystal Red vert by August if everything goes well.

State trooper pulled alongside me a said "I should be giving you a ticket for driving that gorgeous convertible in 30 degree weather" he proceed through the drive thu in front of me and paid for my coffee Back in the 60 degree garage !

Their first topless Camaro, but a long way from their first convert. No excuse.

Glad to hear it Nutt. Last time I had mine out it was 42 and sunny and that was on Halloween. Since then it has been warmer but once I put it to bed it will rest otherwise I go nuts not being able to drive it. Been that was for the last 2 convertibles and 20 years. I can wait till spring I hope =)

I'm not complaining, since I've had no problems yet, but Bonanza7 is 100% correct. GM has built a shitload of convertibles over the years. I read one opinion that the problems are due to the Camaro top being "so big." 20 years ago I had a landlord that collected and drove giant Cadillac convertibles from the 60's. Those were big convertible tops. It seems strange that they are having so much trouble fixing these, but I'm still hoping they will come up with a real fix before mine breaks.

I will bet that either: they put new hires into the design, or farmed it out to the lowest bidder, like they used to do when they had ASC making their convertible conversions.
