Anyone here ever see a big difference between rpm seen at the tach vs logged in software?

I capture higher RPMs than I recall seeing. Saw the same situation in my Chevelle with Racepak data logging.

Stock tach has a lag between what you see and what you're doing.

The stock tach is always pretty bad. Most cars have this problem, although Vettes seem to do pretty well.

If you accelerate slow they are pretty accurate, but if your rippen it, the tach will lag behind up to 700 RPM in 1st gear and less in higher gears.

No wonder why I always hit rev limiter cut off in first gear when I swear I JUST passed the 6k mark.

I thought it was just all in my head.
