Hmmm?
They weren't slicks, but DOT-legal competition tires...

So... AWD had no influence on traction?...

Not going to argue with you.

READ WHAT IT SAID.

The GTR ran in WET CONDITIONS on FACTORY TIRES.

The ZR1 Ran with AFTERMARKET SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND SLICKS/DOT Competition Tires AND A ROLL CAGE.

Do you think the GTR would run slower with DOT Tire/Slicks and a Cage with other Aftermarket equipment?

Really?

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires are DOT street legal tires. They are not slicks.

How about you research before posting incorrect data. Those are new tires for '12... GM puts cages in most if not all it's cars that they test on tracks. The cage is for safety.

Point is, does it come from Chevy that way?

You are forgetting it also had a Cage, and other not specified equipment.

No, it doesn't come from the factory with Cup tires, a roll cage, and other "equipment"

I know what they are, I had RA-1's on my purpose built 03 Cobra that had a full cage, and every suspension mod imaginable.

This was not a 2012 ZR1 that was tested though.

Also, I know what a cage does. It's not for ONLY safety.

You seem to be bent on not admitting the ZR1 was modified, and could still run a 7:19 without a Cage, and other equipment, and DOT approved Radials.

Yet, here are some more listings.

Cool.

Can you show me where on Chevy's site it comes with a Roll Cage, and other Non-Stock Equipment?

Thanks.

I'm willing to accept that the GTR is as fast around the ring as the ZR1...but I still would take the ZR1 any day of the week for ownership. They both are badass but I like the vette's looks and mystique better. why don't we see any mustang ring time numbers in this discussion..are they embarassing or something?

Nothing. That's the point. This site lends itself to the Camaro enthusiast primarily, not the Corvette enthusiast. There are plenty of sites that do if you just want to argue GM versus Ford. The fact remains, the GT500 and ZL1 are direct competitors. Who really cares how bad either measures up to a car in a completely different class of vehicle.

Just ask GoldenBear, he made the point with is position regarding the Porsche variant in comparison with the ZL1.
