Boost is just a measurement of the restriction of getting air into the motor. Don't get caught up on PSI numbers. My car sees 5.5-5.8psi but makes over 700rwhp. Adding headers, cam, heads, etc all lower the boost because it free up the restriction and lets the motor flow better.

Because higher PSI means more octane is needed to ward off detonation. In order to compare boost you at least need to know how much compression the engine is at. A lower compression engine running high boost can have the same maximum cylinder pressures as a high compression engine running low boost.

Note the comparison is based only on pressures and not all other variables like volume (CFM), temperature etc.

Yep, running 15+ in my wrx and it's a much lower compression engine than my LS3. Not really amazing or interesting that the mustang runs 15, it just most likely has a compression ratio to compensate so that it's not being torn apart by detonation constantly.

This has to be the gayest thread ever.

Like i've said time and time again, HP don't mean shit if you can't put the power down (case in point being me -- look at my track times).

A 550hp GT500, a 650hp GT500, a 800hp GT500 all have one thing in common: running pro 13s.

I haven't seen it in this thread yet, so I'll say it...

There is no replacement for displacement.

(However you get there, comparable mods, the bigger engine always wins the horsepower war)

But hey, to each their own fellas.

In this case that is not correct so that is why it wasn't said

I have to disagree with you there.

I know from a good amount of personal experience.

OK. Let me clarify/simplify my point. 6.2 liters is bigger than 5.8

Then we will agree to disagree. I know it is impossible to win an argument with Mustang guys.

And 2.3 liters is bigger than 1.9. Gotta take the blowers into consideration when talking about displacement.
