OK, time for an update. Got five more packages in the mail today. Felt like Christmas in January.

Whatever factory wiring harness is visible, will no longer sport the ugly factory flexible tubing, it will be re-wrap in this new braided

As I had stated earlier, I was replacing the cheap worm clamps with Stainless T-bolt clamps. As an added bonus the bolt has a copper color which match my radiator clamps. These bracket only have about a half inch of adjustment. Patrick at Vararam wasn't exactly sure what size I would need. To make thing more confusing, the throttle body is smaller than the intake. I figured, what the hell, I'd just order three different sizes. The largest works best, so now I need to order one more.

Take a look at the spark plug cables. Don't look like your basic rubber Mallory cables anymore, do they? They are now inside a braided heat sleeve.

I am now one step closer. I was able to get the fuel lines checked off the "TO DO" list! I'm using TechAFX new fuel lines and fittings. I'll give a little product review later and why I chose them.

As far as the install, the first thing I did was go on their website http://techafx.com/ on my I-pad. They have an instructional video which made creating my own lines much easier.

Each fitting consists of three pieces: the main section, the farrel and the collar.

After measuring for size, I used my trusty Dremel.

Sparks were flying everywhere.......

so appropriate gear was necessary. I looked like a storm trooper.

Next came installing the collar.

The fitting needs to slide about an inch through the hose. Clamping the fitting on the vice grip, made it easier to push the hose through. I used a small towel to keep from damaging the fitting.

I used a 7/16 ranch to measure the amount that needs to be peeled off.

Next, with a box knife, I cut the outer layer. Side note...... the fitting is on backwards but don't tell anyone, just meant I had to throw that piece of hose away and start over.

I used a flat head screw driver to separate the braiding from the inside Teflon hose.

Next, came putting the brass farrel between the braiding and Teflon hose. You can see the the teflon is not sitting flush with the farrel.

To remedy this, I used this tool which I picked up at Home D.

And there ya go, much better.

I used tape around the wrench to protect the fitting from marring. I found that an adjustable wrench worked best. Taping a regular wrench made it difficult sliding it into the bolt. With the adjustable, I could open it and than tighten it over the bolt.

And here is the final product.

Another thing I liked about the TechAFX lines is the the Quick Disconnect is just like the factory fitting. Unlike whats in the market.

Till Friday, when more parts are coming in.......

One more....In this picture, you can see I'm replacing the red coupler with black. I will need to cut it to size. The black texture powder coating sample on top is an indication of things to come. Stay tune... and lastly, I finally replaced the four bolts holding down the fuel rails with ARP bolts so that they all match. I'm going to do something with the stainless bracket that come with the fuel rails...maybe brush them, powder coat, I'm not sure yet..I'll try a few different things.

PS, You can see the finally finished polished and brushed water vapor tube someone will be winning on Friday. I can't believe only 5 people have try to guess my age. I guess they each have a 20% chance to win.

Does your wife know you had a vice on the kitchen counter? Boy that's grounds for an ass-whoopin around here!

But seriously great attention to detail - can't wait to see the before vs after!

I appreciate that and your right, it's the details that make the difference.

Oh, by the way, the ring you see on my finger is a "Purity" ring, not a wedding ring, LOL.

Very cool Nathan. Not sure my wife would permit that kind of work on our kitchen counters. You will have to share your secret on how you got away with that.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission .
