And for the obligatory joke:

LOL. Well they are both ours. But she leaves the Z06 driving to me.

And I can agree with you on the second... GO AMERICA!!:flag2:

And also in a semi-related topic... This was an interesting article.

Hmmm. I guess you can put in more horsepower in a vehicle if your warranty is almost half of the competitors. Way to show confidence in your products build quality. So turn the boost up and let the consumer deal with the problems.

LOL

The Camaro does quite a few things better than the Mustang, but LSA or LS3 vs 5.4/5.8 is a losing battle. You've got to pick your battles and picking one with the modular 5.4 or 5.8 is a bad idea.

I beg to differ on the LSA falling apart at 15psi. It's all in the tune. But then again everyone said there is no way a Camaro SS would last very long with a blower strapped to it but I ran mine for 2 yrs & 16K miles with no problems. I am betting I will be able to run close to 15psi with my CTS-V for quite a long time at 650 to the wheels also.

Im on here because I used to own 2 camaros but now own a mustang. But Im still a dedicated car nut. Wheather its a ford Chevy or Dodge. So just because we do not own a Camaro does not mean we can't be on here.

My buddies 03 cobra had a whipple and made 650 rwhp and 600 rwtq, made over 250 track passes and put over 100,000 miles on it over 5 years and never had an issue. That was though a stock 4.6 03 cobra motor.

The new gt500 motors are made Ben better so I'd say they will handle high hp numbers for a long time.

They are 2 completely different types of engines especially when you consider the 5.8L's ability to make 650hp at 6,250rpm and 670hp at 7,000rpm, its gonna pull like an exotic on the top end. The LS9 is a better comparison because its hand built and forged high revving engine can handle the addition boost and abuse a larger twin screw blower like a 3.4L Whipple or 3.6L Kenne Bell. If they would of put the LS9 in the ZL1 and the 2013 GT500 never was released I would seriously be looking to find a dealer to take my 2011 GT500 on trade.

I'm now just thinking about waiting to see what the new gen 2015 GT500 will be, hopefully with IRS, Ti-VCT, DI, e85 before I get a archaic 13-14.
yep your right and then this happened ...

my buddy had to back his cobra boost off. he was at 18 psi. nothing but top end heat soak.. he backed it down to 15-16.. the 18 psi had a great bottom end.. that was is. it actuall made the car slower.

so comming out with 15 psi who cares.. 6.2 liter at 15 psi vs 5.8 leter at 15 psi = 5.8 fail.... I am sure that the ZL1 can be boosted at least 4 more PSI.. 1 PSI equates to about 20 whp..

A 550hp GT500, a 650hp GT500, a 800hp GT500 all have one thing in common: running pro 13s.

Lol. And whose been winning in sales the past 2-3 years? Camaro over the Mustang.

Sure you can juice any stock engine up to make 1000hp but how many runs before it breaks? What people are saying is, on stock internals, bump both engine up to 700rwhp, Ford's can "safely and reliably" handle the power much better than the LS3.
ooops GT-500 blowes up on dyno..

What a compelling argument. Excellent how you based your point on nothing.
