So does the Corvette. And what really irks me is the fact that you have to push the top up away from the windshield before the power top engages.

Ahh so it is no different from the GT500, I figured that much.

Big claim to make without testing of both cars.

Do you really think Ford didn't know what the ZL1 ran and had for power before the public did? Do you really think Chevy doesn't know what the GT500 did on the track? When it comes to these cars and all the attention I don't think there are any secrets.

We are talking about the 13' GT500 and the 12' ZL1. Do a test with both base models and see what happens. The Gt500 with out the extra cost of the track pack that you don't get std and compare it to the base ZL1 that comes with evering thing.......... Lets go.

Exactly what I am trying to say. Test base GT500 to base ZL1 and see what happens. I have seen 2012 GT500s with the track pack for more than the base ZL1. I am sure the new 13' GT500 base price is going to start well into the 50k range.

How is Ford going to copy this new car without looking like copy cats?
Hell they already copied the exhaust tips. Quad exhaust tips. LOL.

Only if they have other options as well. With just the track pack they MSRP for 53,600 and you're an idiot if you pay more than 50k for one. Mine was 49,1xx out the door.

funny, wonder if the ZL1 is under rated like the mustang 5.0 and boss was..

It would be interesting to see some dyno run on a ZL1 and it put down 580 to the wheels....

After all, chevy has had 4 or 5 months to make some changes. just like ford now has a whole year to try to make the GT-500 hook at the track.

this is just going to go back and forward.. .. now chevy has to answer to the 5.0 and the 392 dodge.. give it a year and the SS will put down 50 more hp. and the ZL1 will have a LS9..

With a trap of 116-119... Doubtful. Based on the numbers shown, it is spot on. An LS9 would be the best upgrade for the coming years, agreed!

Al's doing brilliant marketing. Look at the buzz he's caused

Doesn't matter if he's right or wrong and who's faster how and when, Ford and Chevy guys will still sling arrows at each other. You think the execs at the auto companies don't understand this? There's no "foot in mouth" at all. This is how the machine works.

This is great stuff and makes for incredible production hot rods.

And for those who say they got a great deal on their GT500's that's great but I guarantee you the 2013's will follow suit when it comes to sell time. A deal will be MSRP and there will be dealerships demanding mark ups over and above that. There will be no 0% financing or employee price discounts I'm afraid.

Al's words better be low calorie because with all his trash talking, I'm sure Ford's aim now to make him eat a lot or all of it.

Ok we need both cars to show up at the "ring"

Two drivers take two laps with each car.

Tanner Foust and Sabine Schmitz suit up

Have you seen her drive the Transit van?
