Steve Saleen has become a joke IMHO. I almost bought a 2005 Saleen Mustang when they came out, test drove it and was VERY disappointed; Went out and bought the (then) new C6 Z51 vette instead. Now looking at this camaro that was auctioned for $100k...I'm even more disappointed. I'd rather spend $100k doing a Lingenfelter or Hennesey Camaro

Or are you sleeping. Cars auctioned for charity always sell for much more than normal.

Personally, I like the idea, Saleen has expanded his range to other makes since he lost control of his original comapny.

Yeah that's fine and dandy big whoop. But we were expecting more from his design. Its a little lame to just throw on preexisting aftermarket parts, some decals and then just sign the dashboard then auction it off for whatever cause? Yes its for charity - that's cool. But the ultimate goal was to gain exposure for moving into camaro territory. The guy auctions off a car for charity (win) and gets publicity for his work (win) even though he put out a less than stellar machine (fail).

Saleen and Camaro=NO-NO, and this confirms it, I wouldnt pay $40k for that unoriginal bolt on car. Non HID's for 100K! lol amazing...........

As a former supercharged Saleen owner, I can see a lot of his signature styling markers.

The stripes n the fender are on the door bottoms of the Mustangs, so it was cool to see him work them in on our cars.

The ground effects kit was clearly a short cut, and he only upgraded the front brakes on the mustangs, too. Huge rear brakes don't make as much of a difference, unless you're looking for the bling factor.

Those wheels are straight out of his old playbook. Here's my old Saleen. It's an 05 S281 SC in Mineral Gray. I loved that car and it was a blast to drive every day.
