hmmmmmm, at least you are comfortable with your tactics If we were to mislead you in anyway for any reason we would be flamed to the high heavens on sites like these etc etc.

I dont think she ment it in a malice fashion. Some dealers are very protective of their cars right now.

Bobby please understand, but when A dealership is selling the car for 10k over MSRP its kind of hard for us to even go talk to the dealership about even looking at the car, My hsuband & I was more than upset that the dealerships we have talked to decided they were going to stick their nose up at us when we walked in because since they now have the cars, they dont give a dang about us.

I started working with baydo in 04 0or 05 cant remember when, & then to have them turn on us like that. It was 02 all over again when we lost sponsorships from dealerships due to the fact that chevy stop making the camaro.

Hey Bobby-
I already know you are one of the good guys! They just gave me the "slick used car salesman" vibe when I first walked in the door. I just didn't like the way they tried to get me to move my order and told me they could get me my car faster! They basically said they were a much better dealership and I didn't think that was too cool. At that point I felt they were a little shady. Along with their markup. He was totally trying to schmooz me, I just did the same back. Tit for tat!

BTW Bobby, no hard feelings! I am still coming to see you if my deal falls through with Koenig!

Thanks Merlin, you are right! And by the way, when I left...they said I made their day...so they got something out of it too!

actually not everyone is a game player... but most salesmen that I have met are to pushy... I have always gone into a dealer armed.. armed with information, financing or knowing that what I wanted. Very specific...

Perfect example..
Tacoma Nissan Subaru on S. Tac Way (now they are split)..
1998.. I wanted a Subaru Forrester.. Black and Silver.. I knew what I wanted and explained that I had pre-approval from my CU. Test drove the vehicle, loved it, wanted it.. I told them how much I would give them, they played games.. kept talking about financing, and I kept explaining I didnt want or need their financing, they asked for my Social Security # so they could verify my credit ?!?! DUH I had told them numerous times I was pre-approved... after several hours of bickering I walked out.. they let me, so I called Puyallup Subaru (Ron Carter's) I told them I what I wanted, they tried to get the Forrester from Tacoma, they told them it was sold and wouldnt give it to them.. Puyallup found one in Oregon and brought it up.. I traded in my chevy two days later and walked away happy... SIMPLER in Puyallup...

2/2002 Puyallup Nissan..
I wanted the silver Maxima on the lot, I wanted 3.9% financing from NMAC, and I wanted a certain amt on my Forrester trade in.... They wanted more for the Max, and wanted to give me less for the Forrester... kept running back and forth to the sales manager.. NO NEED FOR THAT.. no hard sale.. I knew what I wanted and knew what was fair... after bickering I grabbed the paperwork and headed to my car... they chased me down, started bickering again.. I was in my car then, trying to drive away and the salesman actually came running out to the car to stop me AGAIN.. he did, and I then drove away from the dealer in my new MAXIMA, and left my Forrester there as a trade in.. Oh and I got that financing I wanted..

I won't even tell you about the purchase of our 2000 Silverado from Greg Carter's Chevy..

Thing is most car shoppers now are different then they used to be, we are educated and in some cases (like now) we know more then some salesman..

This is a luxury, I dont have to do this, I am doing it because I want to, and the dealer doesnt have to put on a hard sell because in all honest those hard sell salesmen make me want to puke.. OHH and since I am a female they think I know less or are easier to push around.. HA That is usually their first and biggest mistake...

When I called Parkland about the Camaro, I knew more then the salesman and I figured I would, but I even showed him what pricing was going to be when I ordered my car.. I KNEW.. I called other local dealers 10/13/09 and I heard 5-10K over MSRP etc.. I was willing to accept 3k over MSRP until I came to this SITE and KNEW that alot of dealers were not doing that... I am glad I went to Parkland... They have done well by me and I will sing their praises.. and get free oil changes forever on my car... :

sorry for the ramble......

Remember labeling people cuts down on productivity.. everyone deserves a fair chance atleast for the first few minutes... after that you will realize if they are playing games...

Julie -

I ordered from Parkland too but moved mine to the end of their allotment due to economy worries. I was #3 but now I think I'm #9? Anyway, I'm sure it was posted here somewhere but how did you find those VIN #'s were going to Kent RR yard?

Haselwood in Bremerton is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I went there a week ago to see the Camaro for the first time and after a nice walk around tour I said I would be untested in ordering one. The Salesman was more then willing to help me get what I wanted but when he went to get his "pit boss" the enjoyment ended. The pit boss started to give me wrong information about the car and when I corrected him, based on the knowledge I have from this site, he got very rude and told me that if I was not going to purchase a car on the spot and pay the 5k markup then to "get out". So I took his advice and left. I don't know if anyone on this site has had better luck but during a time when the economy is as poor as it is I don't think they should ever tell a customer that is pre-approved to "get out"! Anyone else have any history with Haselwood (Today Chevrolet)?
