Not right away. But as an example, If I were at a dead stop, and floor it, in M6 it won't shift into 2nd until right at the red line, shifts about 4-5k when in D?

It doesn't change the gearing, just the shift pts. Gives it a more aggressive run through the gears.

Just read the OM...fairly clear..here is snap shot:

With the shift lever in M(Manual
Mode) position, and without using
the Tap Shift controls on the
steering wheel, vehicles with any
axle other than GW8 will be in Sport
Mode. Sport Mode provides firmer,
quicker shifting. The transmission
will shift automatically until the Tap
Shift controls are used. Tap Shift
activates driver manual gear
selection. See Manual Mode on
page 9‑34.

Did you know you can be moving and shift into Sport mode and you can also shift from Sport mode back to drive at any time when you are moving.

The above statement is correct. You can shift from "d" to "s" and "m" at any speeds with no problem. The only thing to beware of is if you are using tapshift and are downshifting, if you shift at about the same time the computer is going to shift automatically it will double shift creating a pretty aggresive downshift.

But I'm thinking maybe they programmed out sport mode on the 2LS for some reason. I'm thinking this cause i'm noticing it's only the 2LS folks who are having issues

I have 2012 2LS and I can confirm OP's issue.

When in M, the car will display M1 and it won't upshift on its own unless paddles are used.

But then there's this... when not moving, you could hit the right paddle and dial up all the way to M6. Will the car struggle to run in 6th gear from that point on ? Hell no. It will just behave like auto, using gears 1 to 6.

To this day I'm not sure, in that mode it feels sportier but I'm a lousy driver and I haven't spent much time in it to tell the difference. Could anybody weigh in on this ? Is this poor man's sport mode for us 2LS owners ?

When using the paddle shifters and shifting your gears on the steering wheel is a pain, I only use mine if I am going in a straight line. Turning corners and steering and shifting is a tough chore. I would rather have a manual tranny and a clutch for cornering. Otherwise I pretty much never use the paddle shifters.

CFD from the forum sells a pistol grip replacement shifter with the paddles on the shifter. I installed mine about 3 weeks ago and it makes going through all gears easy and only with the right hand. I reccomend this shifter if you do a lot of paddleing.

CFD from thr forum sells a replacement pistol grip shifter with the paddle shifters on it. If you do a lot of shifting I reccomend his product. Mine works real sweet and you can shift up or down with the thumb on right hand.

i have a '12 LT... when shifting into "M" gear it should says "S" on the dash, if you press either one of the tapshift paddles then it will change to "M#" the # is whichever gear you are in. changing to drive and back to "m" gear will change it back to sport. Another member earlier said you can also hold the right paddle for 5 seconds as another way to get it back to sport mode.

The 2LS is the only one with this issue. I test drove one and noticed that as well. I ended up going with the 1LS (manual) anyway, but the 2LS was the only LS they had on the lot for test driving at the time.
