Just like history has shown with other high-horsepower factory cars, including the GT500 and Z06, the times are going to be all over the place. Get used to it. Like others have pointed out, there are likely to be a bunch of people buying the ZL1 that have never driven a real high-performance vehicle in their life.
Exactly my point... with the right traction/driver it's high 11's all day long.

Trap speeds from the 1/4 mile fast list... for comparison. All of these faster than your 12.4

Totally delusional......The ZL1 will lose badly to the 13GT500 at the drag strip. Just wait for the official number. You will

anybody who is talking about these times is wasting breath.

If you have ever drag raced which probably some people talking have not. you will no there is no coming back from a huge error on a pass.

you don't get to forget traction control, or bounce off the limiter, etc and salvage the pass.

once you see a clean pass then talk about the time. you have to kow the 60' as well to really see the whole story.

The current GT500 runs good trap the 60 foot times can be in the 2. area though. that is why the ET's are not good for the power. they need help on the tractiojn department. Set of slicks and the same car move's the f out.

the ZL1 may suffer this as well I have not seen the 60' times on it yet.

For those thinking this doesn't bode well for the launch control and computer suspension 'technologies' boasted in this car, one thing we need to remember is this car is built for the course, NOT the strip. Apparently it has the same launch control as the SS. OR, that guy didn't know how to properly use it. Plus he is on stock tires.

I would agree that it seems GM might not want this video out there. LOL

^-- The guy in the video even admits this was his first time on a 1/4 mi and his first run was with everything off... Not exactly a car you learn on..

Let PQ drive that thing and we'll see it in the high 11's....unless it's a manual then we'll see 16s.

I said average "best" the ones you listed are the very best of the best. theyre pretty much just "hero" runs. That's why theyre so high on the all time list.

For example the best time for a stock 2010 camaro is what,12.6? The average "best" is probably closer to 12.9-13.0 with the average run probably closer to 13.2-13.3

Not only that but the times you listed are people running drag radials which will typically give you better traction (ET) than street tires
