Need any advice necessary, just got my 2012 Camaro 2LS in January.

I am about to go fill up my Camaro's tank for the first time before I head out to my university, wanted to know any suggestions or advices about the overall performance of my car.

Also I have a question, is it possible to change the headlights of my Camaro to those like the RS or SS models?

Sorry if I broke any rules, first time in this.

:(

btw thank you all for the responses pretty cool site.

If you press the red button next to the shifter, the car turns into a jet.

rchrdp305, just use QUALITY regular gas and you'll be fine. as far as the lights go, the answer is YES you can, but its gonna cost.....as the price of EACH headlight assymbly is about $800 ......that is if you are talking about installing FACTORY type HID's and HALO's.

oh and btw......CONGRATS on the ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

First off, there is no RS model. RS is an appearance package available on both the LT and SS models. Yes, you can purchase RS headlights and install them with an added harness. They aren't cheap, so your best bet is to find them used.

First thing I did was go to my local GM certified service dept and set up a maintenance plan. I'm not a motor head so I know I would do more harm then good with DIY. Keep all service records.

Oh ok my bad. Well I'm glad I joined this community because I asked the ppl at the dealership about that and they said I couldn't, that if I wanted those headlights I should have bought the ss model. And I'm like I'm sorry I could only afford the ls model.

You can had HID lights aftermarket for alot cheaper than the OEM ones. The lights come with the RS package, not just on the SS.

Anyway, do a search on Eagle Eyes and or HID Projector retrofit.

Congrats on your ride. I have the same model and I can tell you that it is the most solid well riding car I have ever owned. Smooth through all power ranges, good power, good gas mileage just to name a few.

As soon as you can, get up underneath it (safely) and take a look around. Chevy has it laid out much like the cars I grew up with. V series motor with room to work on it, transmission right behind the motor, driveshaft to rear differential. Exhaust (may as well call them headers with the design) both look identical and are laid out evenly towards back of the car. It sure is nice to see this after I have been messing around with imports for the last 20 years which looked like someone had way too much Sake while designing it.
