WTF, How can the car just accelerate by itself.

Quote:
"You get these customers that say, 'I stood on the brake with all my might and the car just kept on accelerating.' They're not stepping on the brake," says Toyota corporate spokesman Bill Kwong. "People are so under stress right now, people have so much on their minds. With pagers and cell phones and IM, people are just so busy with kids and family and boyfriends and girlfriends. So you're driving along and the next thing you know you're two miles down the road and you don't remember driving, because you're thinking about something else."
And seriously, even if we were talking on the phone, talking to passengers in the car, doing calculus and trig, while drinking a cup of coffee and eating a chicken leg, we are not going to mistake the gas for the brake!!! Paalease...What

The way I view Toyota is you can only BS someone for so long til you get found out. Looks like they are starting to get found out.

GM isn't the only manufacturer to ever have problems. It happens to EVERYBODY! Regardless of how much you paid, or how much energy you save, or where your car was built. Guess what? Humans programmed the machines, do the work, and build the programming for all the electronics! Humans make mistakes! It happens everywhere!

But it seems, when Toyota or Nissan do it, it never ever gets into public light. Smell something fishy?

That is exactly the problem I have with all of it. Meanwhile the NHTSA is making GM recall 12 year old cars with leaking valve cover gaskets. The Tundras and Tacomas that are breaking frames are not considered recall worthy? WTF is that? Toyota's approach to the 01-04 Tacomas is to replace the frame. That is just amazing.
