Remember DA doesn't affect blower cars nearly as much as N/A cars. Let's say two cars run a 12.0 @119 in +1,000 DA. One is N/A and the other has a blower. at 0 DA the N/A car would run a 11.698 @ 122.165 MPH and the blower car would run a 11.831 @ 120.69 MPH.

I'm in the same boat, the only reason my car is still just bolt ons is because I'm trying to get in the 11s first. I can't wait to throw my cam in and get the lumpy idle.
A bolt-on vert in the 11's would be . I was in the 11.7x range w/ a 119 trap, but it fell off the bottom of the fast list... I don't plan on fighting the launch on stock tires for too long. They should be better than the Pirelles though...

...and I'm really missing my Lumpy idle about now... this thing can't get here quick enough..

im not quoting slower times. 116.25mph is the average trap speed run so far . that includes the faster ones and the slower ones. the et estimate is based off the mph

We've had a very small sample size of 1/4 mile runs... why throw in slow runs that could have been using traction control or many other settings or issues during the run. TRUE potiential is what I'm looking for...

I'm out...

Man, you can't throw the noobz 107 and 113 mph from this video in that average.

Every car has this, it's called powershifting!

I run 11.973 @ 120.19 on the stock wheel and tire for a 2010 2SS/RS and in a manual trans too.

Automatic Trans

IF that guy in the video had the automatic ZL1.....

He may have ran something like 12.0....with no track skills.

One thing I keep thinking about:

Coming from a couple 4th Gens, 10-bolt worries always kept me worried at the track. That being said, the upgraded 9.5-inch cast-iron housing rear chunk in ZL1 is really impressing me. It has the cooling sump and considering the 600 clutch dumps (isn't that what it was?...), I'm having more confidence in it than I thought I could, given everything ZL1 is and has.

Regarding the video: I've been noticing wheelhop on about everything (which is limited, lol) I've watched. The videos from GM and now this one - I understand this might probably be a drag strip occurance more than the street, but I was admittedly worried at first. I know it has the staggerred diameter half-shafts and stiffer rear cradle bushings, but see all that trap concerned me. Seeing and knowing what GM has put that 9.5-inch through has restored my confidence, especially considering they went out of their way to point it out, and even have a PTM function for the strip. That's where I'll be spending more of my time (motorsports-wise), though I look forward to some auto-X'ing.

MORE VIDEOS PLEASE!!!

i didnt use the 107mph run but i used the 113mph. Its all about statistics and averages. You cant just throw out some low numbers because you didnt like it. What if the 119 trap was in negative density or really low DA run that you only get in winter?? 116mph so far represents the average of what to expect to run on any given day.

thats a pretty good run for stock tires even if it is almost 4mph faster than an average ZL1 run. I wonder how much harder it would be if the car (w/driver) weighed 4300lbs. like the ZL1. I know the ZL1 does have the advantage of a wider tire which might (or might not) make up for the difficulty of launching the heavier car.

i said "with the information we have now". I know its a small sample size but thats all we have to go by. The numbers youre looking for is that 1 single run a year where the DA is at an all time best and the track is "running fast" with all the conditions favoring your chances of getting a new record. I care more about the average and what to realistically expect on any given day.

Well, I am lighter, but that run had OEM suspension except for PFADT solid subframes and their trailing arms. So, no electronically variable stuff to help me.. I did have HendrixEngineering L5 Axles, which should be similar in mass, but I have the OEM center section and gearing. I am putting down 560 tire HP and 520 tire TQ though... Which, I gotta tell ya.. when I turned the computer off at the track, it is just crazy to manage on this tire. I had to lower tire pressure in to upper 20s in the rear and almost 40 in the front (I have it jotted down somewhere).. No weight removal either, other than my listed mods..
