Edelbrock

Just jumped on these, hopefully they don't sell out and can't complete my order. For the price on these you just can't go wrong.

Does anyone have these on their SS? If so do you notice a difference, let me know. I have the Flowmaster American Thunder Cat Back, JBA High Flow cats and Airaid intake and will now be adding these. Hopefully eveything works out great together.

Thanks for the heads up.

Edelbrock

I will find out when I install these because my shop will be doing a dyno to see if it improved over the last dyno I had done. I can't believe that a nice aftermarket header isn't going to net you anything over those stock crap ones.

They're shorty headers, so you will see minimal gains if you have a V8. I wouldn't buy them if you're driving an SS.

I think shorties are more just for sound. I was thinkning of getting them because you don't need a tune, then when the car is off warranty changing to long tubes. Does anyone know how much they change the sound with a stock exhaust?

Yes I have them on my SS.. I know shorties don't make much HP but for the price(under $200) and a couple hrs to install I am pleased with the gains. A couple HP here and there add up.. Did not change the sound much because I already have Solo hf cats..

By what I heard from another member they have sold out. Lucky that mine are on the way. Once I install I will dyno to finally see if it does give you something or not. I don't think Edelbrock would have gone through the trouble to design if there are no benefits. I hope

My Edelbrocks should be arriving any day now but I now decided not to install them since I want to eventually supercharge. I will probably be doing long tubes later. I will be selling the Edelbrocks when they get in if anyone is interested for $280.00 plus shipping cost.

Shorties are good for California, because they are strickter on exhaust mods.

Its short for "Titanium coated". I posted the link on here when Edelbrock was blowing them out for $155 I hadn't planed on putting long tube headers on one for warranty and two cause I live in Calif and didn't want to deal with the emissions laws. But for 155 bucks I couldn't go wrong with these and they are CARB approved in calif and 50 state legal. The fit and finish is perfect everything is included in the kit along with spark plug boot protectors which is about a 70 dollar value in it self.

That being said, yes long tubes make more power we all know that this subject has been beat to death on here about long tubes vs shorties. But if you live in a state with hard ass emission laws their great. So if you don't track race your car or drag race it and don't really care about number bragging and trying to squeeze every little pony out of your car then get um they are definitely worth it for the price. The +'s are...they are way better looking then the stock cast iron manifolds you will get a few more horses and shave about 10 or more pounds off the weight of the car ( I don't know for sure I didn't actually weight them on a scale just by hand ). They do change the exhaust note a little at an idle and especially at WOT. My car now has the Edelbrock shorty headers an Edelbrock X pipe resonator delete (one of my first mods) and the Flowmaster Hushpower shorty mufflers and I love the sound not to loud while cruising or at an idle, WOT sounds awesome and best of all No Drone on the HWY and no decel popping.

Do I recommend these if they fit what you want for your car and you're driving needs yes, and for $199 Hell yes !

CARB shows that they are NOT Cali legal so it's a great buy but not if you need a CARB number. The number that is listed on Summits site is not correct and I checked the CARB site and nothing for new applications. D-215-45

Make sure you check if you are buying these in Cali.
