nitrous kit.....~$800 for a simple kit Tires............~$800 Cam kit........~$800 Gears...........~$800 Headers.......~$1000-1500 depends on what you get install of all that and tune at least $1000 so you will at least spend $5500 ![]() and dont forget a good driver... thats worth a lot of $$$$$ HAHA :P ![]() ![]() I agree with you, you will probably be able to build a camaro for 40k and go faster than 9s but it will be hard to make it reliable unless you do it right. 15k drivetrain (trans/diff/clutch/etc), 5k susp mods, 10+k engine, 10k blower and all accessories (Turbo will cost more!), 2k wheels and tires. you will need another 3+k for install/tuning/etc another 2-3k for a cage. thats about ~45k. you can make it cheaper with nitrous but I doubt you will run faster than 9s... and you will need a BIG shot haha... will you be able to run 9s with 40k YES. but 8s??? its goin to be hard but possible.

I got a 2000 Camaro Ls1 Automatic car, nearly into the 11's
$1,000 Spent Stock Ls1 Motor Harris Speed N20 Wet Kit 125 to 150 shot 4.10 gears catback exhaust delete v6 rear springs 20$ home depot ram air kit 275/40/17 Used Drag Radials (no headers, no stall, no cam, nothing special) Ran 12.01 @ 115mph. Dynoed 447 rwhp & 505 rwtq on the 125 shot. This was June 2010... This all came about on a bet, people said you cant get a camaro into the 12's for 1000 bucks I said I would try, and took the challange ! It was a pretty big deal, here is the link leading up to it, makes for good reading.. WAS FUN ! http://www.gmvsworld.com/index.php?topic=1452.0 And I even put a little labor money in my pocket with that pricing... If you think it through, you can go fast on a budget. What follows is a AIR Adversisement add... "come one, come all to AIR... where you can go fast no matter what price you would like to pay" Clint |

9's and or 8's
Quote:
Speaking of which, I just checked their website. Their 800hp TT package is $67,000 if I include the clutch. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I can personally assemble and build an 800 hp Camaro for half that, and I will put in the 9" rear end with that, which is NOT included in their 67K price...and you'd be pretty stupid to run that combo without a rear-end. I wouldn't warranty it for 3 years, but I'd get it to "run the number". And again, that would be me doing it and FOR me, so no labor costs, just time and wrench throwing! lol Did Dirty Harry ever get a run in??? Just curious, since that was a big build. Pretty sure I don't want to spend that kind of money on my car though. If I keep my car, I will add some more power, but I'm not chasing a number. Wow...$67,000!! That's my GTR right there...'nuf said!

I totally agree. But I still think you can run 9s with only 40-45k. 8s, I don't think so. Still possible I think but again the question is will it be relaible?
100+k for 1250hp? I don't know. I'm pretty sure I can do it with MUCH less money and I will be paying someone to do it. 67k for 800hp!!! No thanks haha. Remember you are buying the name too! 40k out of that 67k is just for the name LOL j/k but you get the idea haha....

Dirty Harry did run a good # when it was in the Monster stage, but I'll leave telling what it was up to Larry.I don't know if he ever got a good # when he calmed it down a bit.
When it's all said and done it's that persons $$$ and he can chose to spend it anyway he wants.Right now I'm going to invest my money in a Cheeseburger
