So have any of you guys, that actually got ticketed for no front license plate, had to pay the full ticket or were you able to have it dismissed ?

I now this thread is old But I have an update. I filly got a ticket for no front license plate in San Jose. So finally I put on the license plate (had to drill into the bumper ) and cleared it.

PS: If you need to get your correction signed make sure you catch a cop off the street. If you go to a police station theres a "fee" for getting a lazy cop to come out and verify the plate.

PPS: My cop simply looked out the front door of the station to my car parked like 150 feet away to sign off the correction. I could have in retrospect stuck on the plate with tape and could have gotten away.

If it happens to me, which I hope it doesn't, I'll do what a member here did. They mounted 4 or 6 rear earth magnets with epoxy to the back side of the bumper then stuck the same amount to the face of the bumper then attached the plate with a slight bend in the middle to the outside magnets with epoxy. let it harden then removed a tape barrier after pulling the plate with magnets attached off. Show ready at a moments notice. nothing showing from the outside.

Or you could have just used a zip tie? Then cut the zip tie.

We got a bracket from Jacfab.com It uses the two bolts that attach the bumper to the bottom of the front end. The front plate do not touch or attach to the fascia at all. No need to drill any holes, fits in where existing bolts are. Would rather go without the plate on front, but don't want to pay for a ticket either. Son got popped for having his plate in the front window a few months ago =(

I live in Ohio where they require a front plate. I haven't had a front plate on a car in over 11 years and have never been pulled over because of it. There's no way I'd ever ugly up the front end with a plate.

I also live in Ohio, and I never installed the front plate on the Camaro. In fact, I was very specific about telling the dealer not to install the mount for it. What you really need to know is whether or not your area actually enforces the law. Ohio does not.
