Thank you for this thread Dragoneye, very well said, appropriate, and needed. Some thoughtful conversation and friendly banter is great, but when it gets to the point where the agenda is clear and it's degrading the quality of the forum and the enjoyment of it's true enthusiasts, something needs to be done. There are even some Camaro "enthusiasts" that fall into that category, which is unfortunate.

In some ways, I consider it a compliment that Mustang fans feel compelled to come to a Camaro site and argue about their car being better or picking the Camaro to pieces.

Keep in mind, they actually have to type C-A-M-A-R-O to make their point. and then they are forced to remember we are on in the fabulous fifth generation to boot.

I don't understand the logic in coming over to the "other guys" forum if you have no interest in that vehicle other than bashing/belittling it. I respect Ford and Dodge, they make some great products, but they are just not for me. With that said, why would I spend my time over at their enthusiast sites talking about the ZL1? Seems very immature and clearly the ZL1 provokes intense insecurities in certain Mustang fans that they feel the need to constantly and aggressively promote theirs as being better.

If I saw a broken down Mustang driver hitchhiking, I would certainly give HER/him a lift, but I wouldn't let HER/him get in and muddy up my floor mats and get grease all over my seat belts and door trim. There IS a line that has to do with respect.

Great post, bout time. As a frequent visitor and not a frequent poster I come here to read, enjoy and learn a little about what others are thinking, trying, discussing, for that I enjoy the camaro5 forum and website. I have recently stopped coming to the site because I was just getting tired of reading the same haters over and over, constantly trying to prove their salt with insults and instigation. There are plenty of other forums for hating and bashing and I am just thankful that a mod stepped up and put these visitors on notice. Thanks

I disagree with this thread.

I personally enjoy the banter and "discussion". Are people really that soft they can't take a little back and forth and a "mines better than yours"? Grow up, get over it, lighten up... whatever.

To me, I'm an enthusiast and I want to own a camaro. Period. If a mustang guy wants to talk smack... bring it.

OK, I'll admit to being a Ford guy, heck even a Mustang guy but then only because they never brought back the 60's style Cougar. Having said that I come here because I love the Camaro. Not as a car to own, but a car to respect as a viable alternate to the Mustang. I would also visit the Challenger sites, if in fact it was a challenger to either the Mustang or Camaro. But for now it's a two horse race and as near as I can tell the ZL1 is ahead. That's cool by me, as I enjoyed a year of top dog status with my Boss. The fact is without a Camaro vs. Mustang mentality both cars would be rather dull. Long live rabid Camaro and Mustang fans. Without each other we are nothing.

Can't we all just get along? The sandbox is plenty big enough for all of us. There are bigger fish to fry then bashing either of the big 3. We should be worried about gas going to 5 bucks a gallon and keeping the economy afloat so we can buy more mods and upgrade to ZL1!

BTW... the Chevy bashing isn't just on this forum. You should have heard what I overheard at a Ford dealership one day. I am sure the same thing can be said about Chevy dealerships talking about Ford.

Competition can bring out the best and worst in people. But I still love ya man even if you own a Mustang.
