the ZL1 is cheaper, has some sweet upgraded goodies and in most cases will probably be faster.
I chose to go with SLP because I wanted to create my own super car, with a warranty to boot. I didn't want all the SLP BS, like houndstooth interior, their wheels and some other things. I created my own package & by the time it's done will be close to 650HP, so the ZL1 will be watching my blacked out taillights as I pull away....

BTW, that Panther is sweet!

SLP makes some really nice cars. I love mine. I have the ZL427. I added a Edelbrock supercharger because I did alot of research and It seemed to be the right one for me. I'm very happy with what SLP did with my Camaro. Look at garage for some more pictures. I will be getting a ZR1 this summer and I plan on taking it to SLP to add some goodies.

Sex Panther! LOL! That's what they should've named it. What's up with the logo looking just like the Thundercats logo? Awesome!

It is true SLP stopped making the ZL1, but that was a limited run of 69 cars and they could not go past 2011 based on agreement with GM. SLP's ZL1 was a 700 to 750 hp car depending if you wanted headers and it was 7.0 liter engine. Only had a 1 year warrantee on drivetrain.

SLP is still making the ZL line of cars such as the ZL600, ZL585, etc. just not their ZL1 version. These cars carry a 5 year/100,000 mile warrantee on drive train (SLP coverage) which can be serviced at any GM dealership not just SLP approved dealers. The rest of the car is warrantee by GM.
