We don't really have any regularly scheduled weekly/monthly meet-ups......good idea though! CCOTR has a Facebook page that is pretty active and events are posted there typically. There is going to be a big Camaro event in Sturgis the end of June that should be a good one to attend! Hope to see you around!
There's this guy that just opened up a frozen yogurt place in the area near base. Parking lot has some room....can't remember what his name is. Maybe we can hang out there and help bring in some business.

Bellhousing Price

I've been tracking this for a while. These were "officially" available about a month ago, but were shown at SEMA back in November, but right at the same price point. It'll be another 18 months before the price drops to recoup R&D costs. If someone builds that master cylinder, I will step up and do it all; clutch, bellhousing and RPM trans but without new hydraulics, it's a waste of $$$$$...still waiting on Tick and Keisler. I'm not doing this twice. Can't race on the bottle without the bellhousing. I might be spectating in Indy after all.

Heck, look at the ZL1 and a dozen other special builds - but they will recoupe some costs on resale value too. Clint in particulair saved my butt when he worked with Lingenfelter when my Kennebell Boost-a-Pump took a dump. He told me I was lucky the internals were forged or I could have blown. AIR is very conveniently located considering my travel time restraints. Now using RMCR since I purchased the full EFI Live tuning tool with licenses, which LPE supports and tunes can be emailed to/from Mark. Downside is actual dyno tunes require more travel time - but I like having my fingers in things and being able to monitor & data log to protect my investment. Then Larry saved my A@$ by figuring out the LPE twin fuel pumps were a must for the higher HP builds. Now he's got me thinking about bigger injectors - wish I would have gotten even larger ones to start with.

The point is, build for what you (any Camaro owner) can afford, but don't overbuild past your weakest links unless you're okay with what could happen. There's a virtual library of information on do's and don'ts now on Camaro5, versus the first year when everyone was testing the limits. High HP builds can obviously be done cheaper, but the question is how long they last and what it cost's when they break versus doing it right the 1st time. I like to replace things before they break since time is money for me. (not that it always has worked)

I'm rambling, but the point I'm getting to is in general you get what you pay for. Lots of homework and sweat equity in research makes it cheaper. I just don't think its right for the group to talk about how cheap a big HP build can be, and not address all the obvious new weak links that we didn't know about before. We're lucky so many have pushed the limits for us to learn from. Hope I didn't just jinx myself for future mods
NO need to apologize Garth...just giving you a bad time. You make some very good points. I'll be the first to admit that I cut a few corners to save money and that was my fault not Clints or anyone else's. It's been a great learning experience... We are cleaning up a few of those things now. The point you make about building beyond your weakest link have been haunting my mind for the last several months. The weak links my case are drive train related. I know its a matter of time before a rear end, drive shaft or tranny goes. Seriously thinking about toning things down a bit until I'm ready to spend money on those things.

Truth is comments like this are what attracted me to C5. Larry, Garth, Tom, and Don all warned me of the costs and risks associated with going fast. Everyone here wants to share what they have learned. Better to learn from someone else's experiences than your own. Its far less expensive. Guess what I'm saying is if you get your feelings hurt from comments like this "toughin' up buttercup" take it for what its worth a money and time saving education not a slam!

You'll probably be alright on your drivetrain, just as long as you get wheelspin.
It's that dreaded no-spin launch every racer is looking for that breaks driveline parts. As long as you are on street tires, you'll be alright!!

I'm happy with the rolling 40 mph starts for now. So maybe I'll get a few more miles before I have any problems.

Good to hear from you Don. Melissa and I were just talking about you when I saw her at the gym last week.

Hope all is well!

I gotta say Lingenfelter did well in lowering the compression as they did, they were always great to work with as well. :-) LPE on your setup leaves a pretty good margin of room for possible error, (say if you run lean, or plan on running your motor real hard, also requiring 15w50 oil in there at all times during the summer, or you void your warranty, another important step!).

The 2.75" pulley your running is maxing out the blower isn’t it? We were able to hit same numbers on Ahmeds Blue Camaro with the TVS2300 blower, stock ls3 w/cam only and 8psi, that always did supprise me, he was running the 3.4" pulley on that system. At your 650 rwhp, I wish they perhaps would have left a little more room for growth on their kits without a major upgrade like another blower or diving into the motor. Course all depends on what you would like.
Not maxed yet .... rear can be overdriven 16%. Plus Nick Williams 102mm throttle body that's sitting here ready for install will increase the boost a little. Then of course there's Nitrous if Brian had his way and I wasn't chicken. 9.67:1 compression allows more boost/streetability/longevity, while higher compression can't take as much boost. But your right, 8 psi boost isn't comparable over different compression ratios. I've gotta wonder how the head bolts and gaskets will hold up though. Maybe I need those copper treated headgaskets you did for Joe

Mike (mws444) is running my setup and overdriven, but without NW TB & 2" primary headers at 16 psi if memory serves me. He's got the same gears and LPE rearend also (so eats up some of the HP, as does the Ford 9" - but less). Stock gears and stock rearend will show higher RWHP.

Here's Mike's dyno (mws444 on C5) - I would think the 102mm would help him alot.

Good point Don! BTW, will Jan let you come out to play at Sturgis?

More than likely there will be several caravan meeting points. I'm sure as things get closer and the participant list becomes solid, things will materialize as usual. I'm guessing Colorado Springs/Denver/I-25@Longmont/Cheyenne just from who's attending so far?
