Well,... it finally happened to me.
I have read the many different posts about people being careful about where they parked to avoid door dings and such, and have to admit that both me and my wife are pretty mindful of where we park and and what we park next to. But now i'm 100% fully convinced that there are low lifes in this world who could care less about anyone elses things, and that it really don't matter where you park or just how careful you really are because I feel that theese low life thugs are gonna seek you out. OK,..... Sorry for the rant, I just had to get that off my chest.
Now on to the main story,... My wife went to watch our son's high school basketball game and she made a point to park at the far back area of the parking lot, under a street light in a front spot thats very visable. She goes out to her car after the game and some open mouth breathing idiot parked so close to her rear bumper that you couldnt get your hand between the two bumpers. She was pretty upset but didnt notice any contact or damage and then left. The next morning we go to get in my truck and I look over at the front of her car and I nearly freak out when I see that someone obviously backed into her Camaro. They did it at a sharp angle and it scratched the paint on the upper left bumper area down to the plastic and left a deep gouge on the left upper part of the fascia and popped off the paint. I understand that "accidents" can and do happen, but these thugs hit my Camaro solidly enough that they knew they made contact with someones vehicle but instead of leaving a note on the door or windshield they chose the thug thing to do and just drive away. I called my insurance company and made an appt. to get an estimate this comming monday but, obviously I'll be out my $500 deductable for the repair. I've gotta meet with the school police on Monday as well and hopefully the video of the parking lot will show the vehicle that hit our Camaro. I also hope that we recgonize the vehicle. |

sorry to hear that happened. I had someone slam their door into mine in Dec. Same issue with insurance so I sucked it up and paid out of pocket.

I obviously was pretty upset when I made this post,...... I just looked at how bad my typing was and had to laugh at myself, but I just did my best to correct the largest portion of the typos,......lol
I'm thinking that since i'm going to be out some $$$ anyway that I might as well add a heritage grill while they have the front fascia off repairing and painting it. |

Well,... I got the estimate and it was $750. I'm not even gonna bother filing it on my insurance. I went ahead and ordered me a new factory painted IOM heritage grill from Maureen at Rodgers since the bumper cover has to come off for to be painted anyway. At least I know it will look better when all is said and done with that new heritage grill.

750 for that!...It will buff out..throw some dr color chip on and call it a day..just kidding=)....no mattter what you do or where you park there will always be people who just don't care about how they park and who they hit..you can park on the moon and somebody will find a way to scratch/ding/dent your car..I'm thinking about bubble wrapping my car and drive around like that from now on..lol

That burns me up.. Why on earth would they need to park so close?? and the gutlessness of not leaving a note...
Well, look at the bright side, you did get the grille changed... |

It has been said before, lots of people don't care anymore and have no remorse tearing up other peoples property. It doesn't matter if it is a 2011 Camaro or a 1983 Escort it is your property and you take pride in it.
I don't take up two spaces and I park away from everyone, did that way before I got the Camaro and I have had run ins with people trying to be a-holes. I am not trying to start a fight with them, just protecting my car I busted my butt to be able to pay for.
