Touch-up Paint
Hey Guys,
Is applying touch-up paint essential to avoiding rust, or does it simply cover it up cosmetically to a chip or a scrape? |

It's not perfect protection like a smooth uniform paint job would be since parts around the chip where it has been touched up could be still exposed on a small level not easily seen by the eye. However, touch up paint atleast covers visible areas of metal. Since they aren't directly exposed to the elements like they were before touch-up, the touch-up paint at least provides protection that wasn't there before. It should be just fine, as it's relatioey durable. There no need to spend money to paint a whole panel for a small chip or two. How big is the chip?

Two days ago, I was told my Magnaflow arrived. New brakes were getting installed. There's still one custom part I am waiting for. After it arrives, everything is pretty much done. I'll let you know the day I'll pick it up. Probably will fall on a Monday or Tuesday. One of my buddies will help drive extra car parts back to my house. So if you want, we can rally up some people, do a cruise to my place, chill, then cruise again and split!

Hopefully you'll get the car back soon man. I have had a great experience with that shop and hope it stays open, but they have people leaving left and right. The technicians ive delt with makes that business what it is. However, with the circumstances, I'm not sure a restructuring of the company is really occurring. It's sad to see or hear about, but as long as they get everyone's car done before anything drastic happens like shutting doors for good, then clients will be happy to get their car completed in a reasonable amount of time. We'll see what happens, as it's difficult to refer people to the shop when so much is in the air and potential clients are seeing their main web page down, and a lot of people aren't getting a response to their inquiries via email or voicemail. It doesn't leave everyone with a warm and fuzzy feeling you know.

It's because they are Hess Innovations now http://www.hessinnovations.com. All the same content is up there from before except the project cars (yours and mine included) have no pics showing since they didn't transfer/copy it over right.
That's all I know as of now and yes it is VERY odd Quote:

Thanks, Tom. I hope so too! It really sounds like they're finishing it up, now. I agree with you. Their techs are exceptionally talented. I forget his name, but there's this one guy who can fit those color-changing halos so perfectly. I mean - those guys are just pros at what they do. I'm e-mailing Chris every two days to get progress info. He's pretty responsive. My excitement has gradually gone down because of waiting. So, when I see it... I'll probably explode or something.
Just saw Rob's message. Good to know! I was wondering what their new site is called! And I'm a client too! Eh... |

I may be taking off my JBA high flow cats at the Granatelli event. Anyone interested in buying them for $275? I can just hand them right over since we'll all be at the event.
