Oops, I just realized this thread is for an complete bushing kit. I was was referring to the rear cradle bushings only.

No problem I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page and talking about the same bushings. Here is the differences between the three different rear cradle bushings:

"Street" rear cradle bushings (BK016) - these are poly-urethane inserts that slide into the voids of the factory cradle bushings. Good for full bolt-on cars and maybe small cam cars that are making 450hp or less to the tires.

"Pro" rear cradle bushings (BK024) - these are poly-urethane full bushing replacements and are easily our most popular rear cradle bushings we sell. They are good for higher powered cars and sacrifice no ride quality.

"Race" rear cradle bushings (BK027) - these are our delrin full bushing replacement and are made for the guys that are making really high horse power or racing there cars a bunch, whether it be in a straight line or around corners. These bushings allow no movement in the rear cradle. The "race" delrin cradle bushing is indestructible and will take anything you can throw at it.

You are probably referring to the diff bushings and cradle bushings, Race vs. Pro. The diff bushings are completely different in this matter. Unless you are truly building a race car I would not use the Delrin differential bushings. The drivelines in these cars (driveshaft and differential) are really noisy and are very inconsistent car-to-car. The driveline is isolated by rubber everywhere to absorb the noise and harmonics so when you reduce the flexibility of the diff bushings, some of the harmonics and noise starts transferring to the cabin. The Delrin bushings do not flex at all which works great at reducing movement and putting power to the ground but not so good for hauling kids to the grocery store. In this location on a street car I would run our poly bushings (either BK001 or BK029).

The cradle bushings are a completely different scenario. I would put Delrin cradle bushings on any Camaro, street or race. Our terminology may be a little confusing on this particular part number because we call them "Race" but it's just simply the way we group our product line, Street, Pro, and Race, Race being the high end solution. They simply work the best with very little drawbacks. Delrin will never squeak and never wear out. They eliminate all movement in the cradle yet transfer very little noise in this application. They are more expensive but if you can afford them I would use the Delrin cradle bushings for every application. That being said, if you can't afford the Delrin bushings, the solid polyurethane version (BL024) is a great alternative. They offer a huge improvement over the OE rubber bushings, reduce the amount of movement significantly and will save you some money as well.

It is definitely a good "bang for the buck" item as far as price and return goes. Probably 75% of the rear cradle bushings we sell are the "pro" rear cradle bushings. When you are ready for a set give us a call and we can get them coming to you.

We can definitely set you up with a custom bushing package which included the delrin cradle bushings over the poly-urethane bushings, just call me here at the shop since it would be a custom one off package.
