Greeting fellow CCNM members,

As you know I have been working Vince Alten (of Las Cruces) to plan this Ruidoso trip for our first Albuquerque/Rio Rancho and Las Cruces/El Paso Camaro meet. Not only is this a way for us to connect with our Southern New Mexico (and El Paso) Camaro brothers and sisters but it also serves as a going away party for Vince, who currently serves our country in the United States Air Force and will be leaving in April for a 15 month remote assignment in Turkey.

I know we were previously talking about staying at Inn of the Mountain Gods but we ran into some problems with rooms and prices. However Vince did find another place that will be a great place for a nice relaxing weekend get away. Shadow Mountain Lodge. They currently have 18 Lodges and 4 Cabins. Prices normally are $135-155. If we can book all those they will give us a great discount and it would be $69 for the Lodges and $89 for the Cabins. This seems to be more affordable and we would pretty much have the whole place to ourselves. They do have a area where we can have a BBQ and is only 4 miles from Inn of the Mountain Gods for those that still want to go to the casino.

The Las Cruces group is planning on leaving around noon on Saturday March 24th. So we can plan to leave Albuquerque at the same time. The plan would be we drive south on I-25 to US-380 and head east into Carrizozo. At Carrizozo we will meet up with the Las Cruces/El Paso group. Then as one big group we can all cruise together for the last 45mins into Ruidoso.

Since we are going to be down south it would be a great opportunity for us to make that White Sands trip that we never got to do last year. So as an option for those that wish to join us on Sunday, we can make the extra trip down south with the LC/EP group and make the stop in White Sands and take some photos, before making the trip back to Albuquerque.

Just talked to Shadow Mountain, all of the cabins are booked. There are still 15 Lodge Rooms available.

Thanx Vincent (AngelSpeedFreak) for posting that I was meaning to get around to it but just haven't been trying to get this 2nd hotel squared away.

sounds good... might push most people towrds the first hotel until it fills up however as I think the prices are only if they fill up. If everyone moves to a new hotel and this one doesnt fill the price will be double.

just a thought.
