Oh.. I was simply saying cosmetically, its AWESOME! I know it's going to have a lot of "GO" too.... no implication there! It was a compliment to the looks!! Don't take it the wrong way! I was just wondering if there were any enhancements cosmetically to the undercarriage (chrome, special paint, etc)... Or is the underside "all business"....?

Also the wheels are only for these builds. At least for the next year or so....my protoypes should be here in a couple weeks.....probably before the car shows up!

GM is doing a great job in getting production up and running and QC is not as much an issue as it was in 2009.

They understand the energy and excitement that the customers have for this car and are pressing hard.

IF you get one for Schenectady, we would LOVE to come look at it!!!

Unfortunately this unit is getting dropped shipped to fla so we can take advantage of the open track season we won't see in NY until April!

We have another unit allocated which may end up in NY.

No problem I understand .

Anything that we will include to the chassis will be geared more towards functionality then "goochie".With that said it will always add some bling I guess. As we all know there are so many parts to bolt on these Camaros it can get out of control. If we can't prove that the upgraded part enhances the overall performance measurably.....we won't use it.

The ZL has a number of improvements that go unnoticed and not outlined in the typically marketing info from GM. They really stepped up the engineering much more then a motor swap and a high tech suspension.

The unoticed improvements are things like the WAY stronger diff which no one seems to spend any ink on.
Things like this allow aftermarket builders to concentrate on more power without worrying about whether or not the rest of the drivetrain can handle it.
The car is engineered way beyond its current power level, which is also why GM isn't too worried about covering the stock cars on warranty.
This makes it a PRIME candidate for the aftermarket shops to use as a platform with comparitively less drivetrain mods than would normally be needed to handle power adders.

I can just tell you from years of working on new product development and most noticeably the Corvette C5-C6-C7 evolution that much is done as the cars go through year to year.

For example the magnetic steering on the 2009 and up Corvette was dramatically redesigned and made a huge difference in the feel of the car....yet nothing is talked about..

There is a lot that goes into a Camaro chassis which was originally designed for 426 HP and then shifted to 580. Not to mention the higher loads in handling and braking which are transmitted in places of the car we normally don't think of that have been redesigned.

There is a reason why the Z's performance all around is superior....the car has been in the works prior to the release of the GEN5!

The ZL brakes are bigger. I've got a set of CCW Drag Wheels coming and I can't remember what size John is making them....for some reason I think the 17's work....hmm......let me check.
