Louis the brace sits back far enough that there isn't a problem. A couple of points about this brace.

1. My car is a 2011 and it had the holes and nutserts already spot welded in place in the fenders for mounting from the factory.

2. 2010 models did not have those holes and nutserts in the fenders from what I have been able to see from the various 2010s I have looked at.

3. The brace comes on convertibles and the ZL1, and I am sure any edition with higher horsepower.

4. It obviously fits a factory hood but I do not know how well it will fit on any custom hood application.

5. It is genuine CHEVY OEM EQUIPMENT so it should not effect any warranty and it is engineered for the car and it WORKS! ORANGE KRATE handles like a new beast!

PS... HAPPY SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!!!!

Thanks for the info. Yes mine has the inserts already there and threaded. This to me is the best looking bar by far. I pm'ed maureen at rodgers chevy to see if she could get me one before I try my local dealer.

So strange! We were all built at approx the same time. You would think... naw. Never think. Maybe those that had cranky manual transmissions got the holes in the fenders as bonus! LOL

Those are the exact holes I had. Perfect fit from factory. I bought the aftermarket polished stainless steel bolts.

I hear you Bill! Holes are good. They are even better with something in them.
