Susan actually got us involved in the event, but you can get info to me and I'll help coordinate with everyone. Huge group would be cool. I'm assuming our group would probably leave sometime Friday morning - but there's been no talk of start times yet. I suppose we better get on the ball soon. Are you planning on attending?

Okay guys,
I contacted Larry at Bandimere and secured a track day!!! The date is set for Saturday April 7th. This is Easter weekend but it is the only Saturday that I could find that worked before the season "starts". The make up day if necessary is Friday April 20th. The cost will be the same as Steve's day at $80 a car. I have decided to change a few things and am open to feedback. The plan is to cap the paricipants at 40. With a bit of wiggle room up to 50 participants. We will also be running a dedicated slick/drag radial lane.

All NHRA rules will apply. The gates will open at 7:30 AM. And the track will go hot @9:30-10:00 depending on the weather. I need to confirm when the track closes. Initially Larry stated that the track would close @3PM. But Steve said he thought his events ran until @4PM. Assuming it is 4PM I was thinking of running the dedicated lanes until @2:30 and then opening both lanes up to street tire cars for the remaing hour and a half if street tire individuals would like to run eachother.

I am sure I am missing some info for everyone being that this is the first time I have organized an event at Bandimere. Please let me know what other questions you have.

In summary;

Where: Bandimere Speedway

When: April 7th (make up day if needed is scheduled for Friday April 20th)

Time: gates open at 7:30 AM

Participants: 40 allowed

Payment: $80 via Pay Pal; BOULDERNISSANMOTORSPORTS@Yahoo.com (please provide your Car details, name and phone number with ref; Bandimere)

Sounds like fun, wish I could go.
The DA might be good, but that early in the year, the concrete and asphalt will still be mighty cold, so "no joy" for anyone running slicks.

isnt Bandimere heated and cooled? My bad its only cooled, still alot warmer then anything I race on lol

I went a few times early last yr.Did run the best time.But saw some pretty hairy wrecks because of the cold temps. However it was after the sun went down.

I have seen street cars pull 1.6 60ft on those early April events the past 2 years. I dont think It will be a problem for us with DRs. maybe for those crazy fast 9 and 8sec cars.... but all I know is that most people ran their best either on april or late Oct on colorado. the coldest and lowest DA days!

For anyone attending or possibly attending, the host hotel filled up quickly and overflow hotel will fill up quickly if not close to capacity already (block of 55 held at overflow). I researved Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat with Sunday checkout. Reservations have to be canceled by 6PM the day of arrival if not used.

Mmmmm, that sounds great. I suppose the cost is not refundable if I couldn't make it? Got the interior ripped up and a few other loose ends to finish/start... not 100% sure yet.

Fast fast fast when you get that cool air coming in due to more air molecules packed into a volume of air. Dangerous dangerous dangerous when those rubber molucules are also packed together. Personally, to run when temps less than 60 is slick as snot and is like playing russian roulette with your rides. But have fun and make sure someone is taking pics to post up. Larry

You can make it...the only things you need in your interior to race are the driver's seat, the seat belt, and the tach! If you need some help, lemme know, I have interior tools and can come give you a hand!
