There was a link from Hot Rod magazine where they dyno'd the 2013 GT500. Can't seem to find the link anymore for some reason... It said it made 650hp at 6250 rpm, then went on to say made 670hp at 7k rpm.

The 2013 is limited to 7k rpm for 8 or 10 seconds. The details have not been released yet other than it will redline at 7k rpm.

Gimmie a freakin break man, seriously...

I seriously thought crap like this only comes from people who are young, and immature, but seeing how your obviously not young (but obviously immature) from your own statement of you being an "old geezer" you should be embarrassed. Grow up man, seriously...

I'm sure all the millions of guys who bought Mustang's over the years were thinking to themselve's, damn, i can't believe im actually considering buying this car. What will my friends think? I mean afterall, it's perceived as a "chick's car" on some Camaro forums.

That's about as dumb as me saying to someone, hey man, are you sure you wanna buy that Camaro? I mean you know it's considered to be only drivin by 'rednecks with mullets' on Mustang forums right?

Your post's are full of sir...

Don't get mad at US, Shelby is the one that said it

I was about to say... Because I cannot find one article that mentions 670 HP confirmed or unconfirmed, other than forum speculation. Interesting though, not that it matters whether it is 650 or 670 HP the thing will surely be a speed demon.

as was stated earlier, an editor for Hot Rod magazine was there during engine testing and they even published a picture of it in their magazine. 670HP.

10 seconds how disappointing and I was just about to give Ford kudo's for the 7,000rpm redline. I want to say back in the 1970's they built 351 Clevelands that turned 8,000rpm all day long so with all the forged goodies in the GT500 engine I'm a little surprised.

who would want to spend more than 10 seconds straight att 7000rpm?? Also, im sure those clevelands didnt produce 670hp from the factory or had the kind of warranty the GT500 does. at this power level (almost 700hp) breaking stuff is a very real possibility even on the best built engines. these engines are designed to have oem type longevity (100,000+ miles)

That is why Ferrari and Audi are also relying on such technology in there highest performing vehicles.

But a true purist and (or) old school driver may prefer the feel and functionality of the Billsteins, as I'm sure they are more than capable for the GT500, etc... But, as they always say to each there own.
Im sure the MR is great, but if the bilsteins were that far behind, the GTR wouldnt be so successful running them. Ferrari and Audi rely on them because im sure their customer base appreciates the ease of use.

There is a big difference in sustaining crazy high rpm's when talking about supercharged motors vs N/A motors. You obviously don't know the difference and i don't feel like wasting my time to explain it to you. Your post is... when talking about how a production vechicle making 7k rpm from a supercharged motor is disappointing.

There is a reason the ZL1 peaks at 6250...

If they were being used on the Camaro, and not the Mustang, they would be the hottest s**t since sliced bread...

SAE certified?? If not it's not valid. I guarantee many of the dyno's will get greater than 580hp from the ZL1, but the SAE rating is 580hp.

The MR (active) suspension has been praised by just about every mag on the planet. Im sure the Bilsteins (2 settings, rough and rougher) will be an improvement, but nowhere near as forgiving and accomodating as an active MR system. Especially during daily driving on the streets.
