I hope mine comes out looking that good. If it does I will be extremely happy. I want the back up camera but I have a portable GPS that has all of my locations on it.

I'm curious if the GPS can be operated when the car is in gear. I just got back from a fishing trip with a buddy and he has a built in GPS in his GM vehicle. You can't do ANYTHING when the car is in gear. You can't search for locations such as restaurants, you can't even get a map view without pulling over and putting the vehicle in park.

If the Kenwood unit allows you to use the GPS functions while I'm driving I may consider adding the nav option. Did you add an amp to your head unit? Do you have the Boston Accustics system? How does the system sound? Better than the OEM system? Any problems getting sound out of all of the speakers?

Thanks! The Kenwood gps is by far the best gps hands down that I've ever used. And you can use it while in drive if you bypass your kenwood unit (taking the light green parking wire to the ground wire). After that you can do anything you could possibly want with your kenwood while the car is in drive.

I do not have the boston accustics system in my camaro, but I will be getting a full system soon from double d mods. I'll be doing a full ARC Audio system with single 12" sub. And I can tell a big difference already over the stock unit. Sound clarity is so much better with the Kenwood. I'm very pleased with it

Does Kenwood make a backup cam system that has the lines on it or do they only manufacture the one system? Could I buy any backup camera and have it work? What would I need to look for in order to see if a system would be compatible with the Kenwood unit.

I'm not sure if kenwood makes one that way or not. And yes, any brand of back-up camera will work on kenwood. They all hook up the same. Just make sure its made for double din units and thats it.

I took the glove box completely out, then above where the glovebox was is a big piece of plastic that can be removed with an allen wrench. I mounted the kenwood nav on the back of that piece.
