Hylton, I went to find your post and then had to go see what was written and BOOM! before I got back to re-post your post you had already done it. But I added that big black SS just to draw a little more attention. Anyway, please keep up all the great work and good luck in this endeavor.

Thanks! What I find refreshing is seeing guys like you and LadiesMan who have seen movement on their car joining in on this issue. You definitely get the big picture. As I said earlier, I would gladly be the very last R6P car if I knew that every car built before mine was an R6P car. I have absolutely no problem with that. We as a group, have let enough people butt in line and it's time GM start acknowledging this.

Yes. They are very good at letting people voice their opinions on their blog. I can't believe some of the stuff I see on there sometimes.

The launch of this car will almost certainly be a roaring success, but at what price. When any company destroys the most solid part of it's customer base it can't be long before the rest of the structure starts to crumble. Once the foundation has been eroded the structure is doomed to failure.

That sure sounds overblown but it is exactly what is happening. I remember an old statement "casual people become casualties" well "casual companies become casualties" as well.

What a great chance to prove that you care about your most valued asset, "the customer" and announce that all R6P orders would be built before another car leaves the factory.

I believe that once the Rentals and dealer cars were made they should only have produced R6P orders b4 producing dealer stock cars.
I am thinking I would be blaming the dealer since they could have put in your order but the dealership decided to skip over you.

After reading a couple of posts, especially Hylton's and ZYAL8R, I couldn't think of anything else to add.

Even though my car has been built for a looonnnnggg time it feels, I'm still in this with you guys until yours are built and delivered as well.

That's what Camaro means right? Friend, pal, comrade?!?

We may complain to each other, about each other or about this process, but in the end, we are all here for one common reason, we love these cars.........first - fifth generations and hopefully, for many more to come. But I think we all want to feel that in return from our spending of hard earned finances and we are definitely not getting it right now.

Maybe someone will hear our cries and set our Camaros free!!

Bayed TWICE

Well I am only at 28 days. Built 4-3-09 and Bayed, then Bayed again on 4-25-09.

I think a Cold Air Induction kit in my trunk or under the hood when it showed up would make it all OK!

I know there are Camaros at a few dealership around here.

Hylton has the thread where you could win a hat if you are the last preorder at 1100.

I know I might get flamed for this, but IMO, the launch is over. Yes, we're gonna have the May 6th events, but with so many dealers that don't have cars and so many of the early VINs not getting delivered, it's a big "we blew it" brewing. But, it's just 15,000 or so people that have pre-ordered that know about it, or the ones on the forums........it's not like the general public knows about it yet.

Are there alot of people that just recently ordered and have gotten their cars already?

I ordered 10/18 so I had been waiting the 6 months like everyone else. I was watching UC's list daily (ok hourly) for my car to show up, which it never did. I sat at 3300 for like 4 weeks. My dealer sent me an email that it was still in 3300 but they did have a Vin. Next thing I know it was showing up on the Rail tracking thread.

I guess I just got lucky. It must suck to be one of those first 3000 and having your cars being held up in QC for a month+. I know for those first 3-4 weeks I was wanting to be in that group and seeing my car get made.

In the end things will work out, and you will be so pumped to be driving in your sweet ride. Fret not about the things you can't control. But when you do get it, enjoy the heck out of it!!!! I know I am!

Patience my friend. Scott is well aware of the issue as well as many other GM folks. The question really is if they are willing to make a direct (non-rhetorical) statement about the issue or not.

We don't need more then 2 sentences from them really. Either they say:

1. "Production of the Camaro will strictly focus 100% on R6P cars except where constraints are concerned. Dealers will not be receiving anymore stock until all buildable R6P cars are made".

-or-

2. "Production will consist of the following - 60% of the cars built will be R6P cars, 35% will be dealer stock and 5% 'whatever'. This was decided because......"

Pretty simple really....as I've said before, silence speaks volumes.
