Waiting on Convertible - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just wanted to introduce myself, been following the site for a while but just registered. Looking to get a convertible if and when they become available. My choice would be the Inferno Orange metallic with a white and black interior as in the concept photos.

Wanted to know if anybody knows if that interior will be available and has any general knowledge on the vert.

P.S. I saw the Inferno Orange Metallic on an Avalanche, whihle it isn't a Camaro the color was pretty cool. Looks very opaque and bright orange inside and darker burnt orage in the sun. Also in the sun the metallic and pearl effect really comes out.

Welcome to the site same as about the last I herd any info about the convertible was 18 months and that was maybe 2-3 weeks ago.

Thanks for the welcome and the updates..............

I'm in the San Diego area and really looking forward to see some of these new Camaros on the road; Vert or HT.

Have had a couple of Camaros in the day, a 4th gen Z and an SS. Loved the SS, sorry I sold it.

Well I'm moping.

As a matter of fact, my wife called me out for it and is now researching if we can just get a coupe now. Admittedly, I've lost some faith that the convertible will even be produced.

Well I can definately identify! The vert WILL happen as are all indications. It's just a matter of time. I know for myself if I were to give in and buy a coupe, the first time I finally did see a vert I would be kicking myself in the a@@!

So until something official says they WILL NEVER make a vert, I'm holding out! Even though it's getting harder and harder! So in the mean time.....

Camaro5 to get ya through!!!

I'm holding out for the vert as well. I figure if we find out it's a no go in roughly 12 months, then hopefully the wait for the coupes will not be as bad as now and bugs (if any) are worked out. Maybe some new options will be available like Z-28 or maybe even a COPO with ZR-1 engine in it???

I hate to say it but I would not hold my breath waiting for the vert Camaro's. With the financial troubles of GM it will be tough to justify a niche car right now. I know most of the R&D has been paid for but I suspect that GM will stay with high volume cars for the next couple of years. I hope for the vert fans I am wrong however.

If you were able to order one, you'd have to expect that your order would be moved to the side so Avis and people walking in off the street would get theirs before you.
Sort of like the bible says, "the first shall be last and the last shall be first".
