I looked up the railcar (on the Motor Vehicle Equipment Trace) that my car is suppose to be on and it says that it is in Marion, AR as of 0730. What does Constructive Placement mean?

The railcar with my Camaro has been unloaded 40 miles from my house as of 2 1/2 hours ago...

Empty Yes Released from Industry (COMPLETE UNLOAD) WESTFIELD, TX 05/01/2009 11:05:00

I wonder how long it will take to get to my dealer (also about 40 miles away).

Found it....

“Constructive Placement” means that a (Rail)car has been offered to a customer but the customer is unable to accept delivery.

Spreadsheet is updated! 1680 VINs!

Also, if anyone has a VIN that is not showing up on the spreadsheet, but you DO KNOW your railcar number. Please post it and I will add it to the spreadsheet so it updates. PLEASE do not send me your VIN if you don’t know the railcar number yet. Thanks,

My train car is scheduled to arrive late on 5/7.. I called the dealer and told him to figure out how to get my car on Friday!!!!!!
Even if I have to drive there myself...

so once the car gets into the US, you can't use the vin to look it up but you can have your dealer call the DBC or whatever it's called to get the rail car number.

Something I found out..

The tracking page has a delivery date for my car (and Camaro) on 5/2, BUT really that is the day that it is being turned over to Union Pacific from Canada Railways!

HuJass has said all along that it is due the 7th in Kent, WA and I called Union Pacific to ask them a couple questions and a very nice man helped me out

and he confirmed that it arrive last night in Illinois and is sitting awaiting transfer to UP tomorrow morning from IHB and CN. So the date of 5/2 isnt the day of deliver here it is the day of handoff...

So I still have until next Friday before I can even get my car.....

My car was scheduled for 5/3 but was unloaded on 5/1 - 2 days EARLY - whats up with that?
