Cost for me was over $2k for custom piping because of the amount of space. For all the work it wasnt worth the extra 30-70hp for me.

Therefore, it seems to me that it's really personal preference if you have or want headers and TT's, not a technical reason that you "can't" use headers on a TT install.
I've seen rear mounted TT's with headers so was wondering if that was a messed up setup, or dis-advantage / advantages to using / not using headers with TT's.
You can do it, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to. Plus, if you already spent the money on headers (or headers and Xpipe) you can reuse the stock manifolds and sell the stuff to offset some costs.

Custom headers are expensive no doubt. Mine was included in the price of the turbo build so it wasn't too bad. They were a work of art though.

That's exactly what I did.

I'm with you. I luv's my headers man. If I was going the TT route I'd have to keep them. I don't care how much pipes need fabricating. To each their own right?

Definitely, do whatever you like. Just out of curiosity, why would you be so adamant on keeping them?

From what I have been told, you don't want to use a set of headers with a turbo system because they can't handle all of the heat and pressure caused by turbos. Plus, when the stock manifolds are more than adequate for the application, it makes sense to put them on the car.

I'm not going TT, I'm just saying if I could keep the headers I would, and for me I'd probably see if I could go the rear setup.

I really like ProCharger and would never trade that up for a TT, no way in hell. Before I went that route I'd upgrade to an F series. IMO a ProCharger is the best of both worlds between a supercharger and a turbo system as it has similar qualities with both.

I hear ya. An F1-R is going in my car right now.

See, you know where I'm coming from. Nobody can convince me a TT is going to do an F series. The vehicles breaking the records are ProCharg'd.

Don't get me wrong, I chose to go with a Procharger this time but everything else being equal, a properly built turbo system will outperform a centrifugal every time. Emma's doing it right. This car is going to be insane.

You could always start your own thread about what you're going to do.

I can only do this once. I don't have the resources to do it again (at least not in the foreseeable future). So, I'm trying hard to do my homework before deciding on what to include. I don't think there is a right or wrong. There are different options for different builds. For me, I wanted to make sure I could turn the boost up or down to suit my needs and I wanted an engine/tranny/rear end that would handle the boost.

Well you're doing an amazing job so far. I can't wait to see this beast all put together!
