I can only do this once. I don't have the resources to do it again (at least not in the foreseeable future). So, I'm trying hard to do my homework before deciding on what to include. I don't think there is a right or wrong. There are different options for different builds. For me, I wanted to make sure I could turn the boost up or down to suit my needs and I wanted an engine/tranny/rear end that would handle the boost.
For some reason I thought this was an open FREE forum for people to exhange information and learn. My questions are out of curiosity and sometimes I have valuable info that I can share too, for example you could also turn boost up/done using a centri supercharger if the builder knows how to do it.

It is. I just thought you might stand a better chance of getting your specific questions addressed if you started a thread about your build and what you'd like to do with it. I meant no offense.

Mine is done, just a few last things to decide on. No offence taken.

No, it won't be the highest horsepower build. Not by a long shot. There are several cars that are (or soon will be) over 1000 rwhp.

But, we are building this car so that the drive train will handle more hp and we can turn up the boost later if we want to. (I'm not sure I'll want to... yet.)

(at least I hope so.)

Besides, I think the PSHHHHHHHHHHHHH! sounds pretty cool.
It will be anything but quiet when you stomp on the LOUD pedal. Turbos absorb a lot of sound energy at idle, but even then it will be noticeable. A 427 with some base compression moves a lot of air. You'll like it. Besides, tires squealing on asphalt make quite a bit of noise too... We were rather surprised how much louder the SST was over the stock engine with the same 3" Stainless Works system. Usually it's not that much. Just a matter of airflow. Smaug will bark like a BAD Dragon.

Speaking of the highest hp build on Camaro 5...

Hi, speedster! Thanks for the encouragement. I must say, I am shallow and sound is very satisfying with a high hp car.

I bought a new 3" Borla Stinger exhaust for my car. It should have a deeper growl than the 2.5" that was in it.

I sold my 2.5" Borla with the cutouts to another member on the forums who is local. He had IPS install it last week and he's very happy with it.

You will like it. And if not, it is pretty easy to change the tonal characteristics of any system. Glad you went with 3" because at your HP levels 2.5" is just too restrictive.

Just for grins, listen to these videos 'side-by-side'.
The first is the stock motor with the Stainless Works 3" off-road mufflers. Note the volume/tone at idle.
The second is the exact same system (sans CATS) with the new motor.
The change in sound was much more abrupt than expected.
(Sorry about the actual videos popping up in your build thread, I just wanted you to be able to click the links.)

Smaug will ROCK !!!!

Merriam Webster def: at a future time : eventually, down the road

Camaro5 def: as soon as the car is lowered off the lift: before the car has even touched the road

You know if the first dyno is in the 800+ rwhp range which I'm assuming it will be, you are going to want to go for 1000! Like you said, you're doing it right this time
