So i was considering getting my windows tinted and I was wondering if anyone in the SYR area got theres done. If so where did you go and how much did it cost roughly. Also what is the legal tint limit. If you could pm me that would be great.

I'm not in the Syr area but I can say that in NY ANY tint on the side windows is illegal! I got 20% on the rear and 35% on the side windows and it looks great! Cost was about $140 for standard tint.

Do you get pulled over often? I'm dying to tint mine, but my SS is a DD in the summer. CGM looks so much better with tinted windows.

Haven't been pulled over for it yet! I drive mostly in warmer weather (stored in winter) so I'm not out a lot with it, and when I am the windows are usually down. I suppose in cold weather with windows up it's more obvious. Most ppl won't be bothered for tint unless you're doing something to attract their attention, like....

Not quite true Mike. While I still see it as ridiculous that the law is at least 70% light through the sides (not 65%), here is the detail on NY. Why don't they make 35% tint so it is legal?

Thanks for the info and clarification! I always thought that factory tint was 70% therefore any more was illegal. Anyone know what factory tint is? I don't think I've ever seen any aftermarket tint for 70%, just not worth it! Rediculous law! I guess the law enforcement wants to be able to see into the car clearly, I don't blame them with all the criminal activity out there driving around!
