YEP! My thoughts exactly! I do a lot of miles in my Lil' Blue Coupe and am in no big hairy arse hurry, once in a while I will open her up but even then it is very little. My V6 puts out at least 26 MPG most of the time. Compared to my Avalanche that I traded in on my Camaro I am getting at least ten more miles per gallon in my Camaro, heck.....this is one of the biggest reasons for justifying the purchase back in December. My wifes car broke down (bad fuel pump) and we were only left with one car for a couple of weeks and I was forced to take the Avalanche to my other clinic 92 miles away, I always stop and fill the tank each time and in the truck I was putting $80~$100 in everytime, my wife then says "Well I guess it is time we get your Camaro you want, especially since it will get better gas mileage"
The agreement for this trade in was- it had better get the same (if not better) gas mileage than her car and that is 24 MPG. Needless to say-We are very happy with the gas mileage of this car.
We were considering something else like a KIA Sorento but that thing costs around $28k~$32k for one that has everything the Camaro has in it (except the Camaro looks bada$$) and the dang thing gets the same kind of gas mileage. So here is how we ended up looking at it-we might as well be driving the car we want seeing as it costs the same price and gets the same mileage.
Just remember folks-you are NOT the only one paying these outrageous gas prices, It's all of us who are paying, it's just something we have to live with.

I didn't buy a SS for the mileage, as long as premium is available, I'm buying.
Doesn't mean it don't suck though. $3.57 and climbing.

No big deal. I don't think anyone worried about gas when they bought a SS. Things could change for the better next year.

While I'm not going to stop driving it, regardless of fuel costs, I am going to build one of these to ride around short distances... Supposed to get ~150mpg... Cheap... Why not?

The companies that control the price will always find a way to take cash out of your pocket and put it in theirs.

The funny thing about mine is it is the best vehicle besides my motorcycle that gets the best mpg. My expedition gets like 10 and my wifes Stratus gets only 22-24 on the highway. So if anything, when I get this one paid off, we get my wife a Camaro too
