Interesting... must just be waiting to be loaded on a truck for your dealership. Have your guys call them and get it transported..

Freedom Chevrolet is the dealership that is selling me mine if it ever gets there. It was easier when I thought it was still a few weeks or more away, but now that he told me it could be delivered any day, time has been dragging.

exposed carbon fiber hood insert

Maddmark54

My intial order accepted January 5th was with the exposed carbon fiber hood insert. 2 1/2 weeks went by and my dealership was told they were on constraint and if I wanted the car, I would have to change my order to the flat black. I contacted Chevy, recieved a case number, and was contacted by phone. The first rep assigned had no power to do anything and I was assigned a district rep. This rep initialy told me she looked forward to working with me. She told me she would call me back after investigating. When she called back, she told me I can take the car the way it is, or give up my allocation. ( I put a deposit down 2 1/2 years ago) I asked her what happened to working with me? I explained that "the carbon fiber insert has a projected price of over 2000.00 dollars and that it it's unfair that I should have to pay any more than the 600.00 option price, on an option that was initially accepted by the factory. It's not my fault that Chevy has a problem with their supplier. All I ask is for you guys to be fair with me." I had thought that Chevy would do something to work with me, but so far, no solution, no working with me, no nothing. They sell #1, #2, and number 69 to Hendricks, but they can't make good on this? I guess the little guy doesn't matter.

Reps from GM have been on here explaining all of this every step of the way... You can get exactly what you want but you will have to wait. The folks ordering now are in the opposite position you are in... black is contrained... Let your order go to the person behind you in line and take the next one.

Here is a good read for you.. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197792

Welcome to C5..

Exposed carbon fiber hood

The only problem with your solution is that nobody knows when the next allocations are to be. And the read you supplied me was well after I ordered the car. No mention of a constraint was implied or mentioned when the order went through. And thank you for the welcome!!!

Your dealer definitely knows if he has additional allocations for 2012... I'm sure someone would want to move up and take yours. The link I provided was posted at the time production started... prior to that most of the pre-orders were just sitting at 1100 and could be changed/adjusted. The link was mean more to let you know they really do check in here and try to explain things. Not everyone likes it but it's the nature of being first on the block to own one of these.

Same thing happened to me in 2009 when my dealer called and said my Cyber Gray color was on constraint and must change colors or the guy behind me in line would get his allocation put in and I would have to wait. Since I was informed here on C5 I knew CGM was about to be released so I told my dealer no color change... The guy behind me moved up and the next month I got the color I wanted. This may not be as easy to work with the limited number of ZL1 allocations, but you do still have the option to wait and get what you want even if it's a 2013..

May be a little disinformation campaign -- the ZL1's are still all encamped at Oshawa -- they aren't supposed to be paroled (from their QC process) until end of month. I'm also waiting on my car through Freedom Chevrolet -- assume you have Allocation #1 and I have Allocation #2 of the 3 they had.
